Slot comes across like a very unlikable, arrogant man.  I’d imagine now the results are shite, the players want him gone.
definitely had the rabbit in the headlights look about him at the end, eyes flashing everywhere and hint of fear - nothing against him personally but i love seeing them like this.

Not sure why we are routing for English clubs.

Completely off topic, but I always thought it was “rooting” rather than a gerund of route.

Fair play to the Americans, they pronounce 'route' as 'rout' to prevent this type of confusion.

Not always, though. See "Route 66".

Just seen Van Djik's handball. I'm surprised he wasn't given a yellow for it as seemed deliberate and blatant and he didn't seem to have been fouled. Looked more like he had misjudged it and tried to stop it going over him for an easy goal.
when I played Sunday league I can honestly say I never saw a stupider handball than that last night. What the fuck was he thinking?? And yes it should have been a yellow for sure but just like Chiesa's professional foul late in the game when PSV had a break on it wasn't given - nothing to do with being in front of the kop though was it...

He could also have got a yellow for over-arguing. Yes he is the captain but he was back in the refs ear after the penalty was scored.
He did get a yellow soon after that as well. I haven't seen that challenge but that would have been interesting if the red might have been given following it.

Was it the year after Klopp won the title that Liverpool went on a similarly dreadful run of results? Patience then saw them pull CL football out of the bag late on. They wont be winning the league this season but they really should turn it around to finish in top 4 again. Sacking a manager a few months after winning the league title by 10 points would be insanity.

Might also be the case that Slot did incredibly well to squeeze the last push out of a lot of these players like Salah, Robertson, VVD, Alisson. Ferguson did something similar with Man United in his last season, winning league by 11 points but the team was done. Unfortunately for Liverpool, they handed out massive contracts to the likes of VVD and Salah last season when they were cruising to the title. Not easy to move them aside now.

Liverpool, in the midst of dealing with Jota's passing, did make some really poor transfer decisions last summer. There was absolutely no need to sign Isak when their midfield and defence needed urgent investment. Their new full backs are nowhere near the level of the players they have replaced. It's hard to know how good or bad their new forward players are. Jota and Nunes kind of accepted their roles as impact players off the bench, the likes of Wirtz and Etikete are still trying to figure out what their role is. Hard selection decisions required by Slot there.

Being a Liverpool player, of course, he still found opportunity to castigate the referee for his own stupidity.

I wondered that. Be nice if he did, and was a miserable failure.

Apart from the hammering we dished out, they were towards the top of the league with only one loss in the first 16 or so. The drop off occurred because of VVD doing his cruciate then other defenders injuries meaning they were either dropping Henderson there and/or kids.

I heard that phrase on the radio the other day. I thought it was a score update from the Ashes.

How did we manage to lose to them? It is still baffling me!
