The fact he had to duck to get out of the way of the ball whilst standing 2 yards from the keeper is a pretty obvious offside.

As Jack Charlton would say ‘ what you doing on the pitch if are not interfering with play like ‘

I think that was Bill Shankly.
I thought it was Brian Clough?

Slot’s a funny one. A leading manager from a minor league, I think he got extremely lucky last year - obviously there was the fact that Klopp had left him a top 5 team, but also they had a bit of a nightmare window last summer that basically left him with no new (his choice) players, which in turn meant he couldn’t really tinker. That turned out to his advantage, coupled with the very indifferent performances of City and Arsenal.

He has the Dutch way of plain speaking which, when the pressure is on, also sounds rather thin skinned. He is under the kind of pressure now that one might have expected last winter (got to give it time to bed in, etc.), except that while back then that might have sounded reasonable (just arrived), it is now less so, especially given he spunked up £400m in between times.

Will be interesting to see how that plays out over the next 12-18 months. In my view, he’s a good continental coach but no more than that. Will he get found out?

I expect it will be like Ten Haag soon, especially with Salah's current form dropping off a cliff. Maybe Liverpool should have learned that top Newcastle strikers are not worth breaking the bank for.

I see the PL are helping Arsenal and Palace by moving games to avoid fixture congestion! Does this set a precedent for every club except us
