Just fuck off, Villa. Emi - hope we get some decent money, you temperamental twat.

A rush of blood to the head….for both you and Emi

Oh thanks for that! What did you think was going to happen when Emi did what he did?
You’re right Jane
He races out of his goal with no chance of getting there first. Should have stood his ground and had a 1 to 1 with Hojilund who probably wouldn’t have scored

Only two points and a win off of last seasons tally but boy am I annoyed tonight, it feels like a disappointing season even though I'd have been pleased with the Europa back on Boxing Day. Bottled it at United again, made them look like Brazil. Their worst teams ever and we've took one point from twelve against them. Bottlers.
I'll be happier in a week or two but all if feel is disappointment right now.

Should have put 4 in 18 under Emery against them. I have to admit, that first win where he stated he tailors the side to play in the gaps the other side leaves is a long time ago when he chose that same team again this week. It works more at home but think differently away when pace is need if you want to be counter-attacking.

I'm stood in a pub in Leicestershire absolutely fucking raging. That ref needs sticking in the Championship for the next 20 years and the PGMOL can make up the difference between Champions League and Europa League. Just don't blow you fucking mug.

What's really annoying is they conned us into thinking we'd do it.   We were well off the pace 10-11 games ago and the run we were on had us all thinking we were gonna do it. And then along comes our old friend Manchester United. It was like Villa at Old Trafford bingo.

More angry at the performance than the ref.

Yes, we were absolutely awful today and there were some genuinely shocking performances mixed with some idiotic decision making.

But ... the referee has made a decision there that has probably cost us.  By blowing his whistle before Rogers put the ball in the net he negated the VAR intervention that surely would have resulted in the goal standing.  As poor as we were, I don't think we lose that if we go 1-0 up at that point.

Turns out GD is worth a point after all.

Well, no. Because if we had got one more point we would have finished fifth.

So worth a point then as we needed 1 more point than the side with a superior GD.

Not sure why your first thought after a typically irritating loss is "I'll try to wind someone up", but I'll leave you to it.

I think he was just proving a point that our ridiculous low goal difference cost us? 🤷‍♀️

If there's a player in their team you'd fancy tu fuck up in that scenario it's Hoijlund. Instead Emi goes full Emi, and you never want to go full Emi.

Trying to think of the game where Mings was interviewed after, when he said something like “when things are going wrong, you need someone on the pitch to change things”. The interviewer said “who would that be?” and he said “me”.

Our only true leader, not picked for a big game again.

Indeed.

Pau wasn't totally shocking today (no more than the rest of the numpties around him, anyroad).  Yes, he tried to pirouette in his own penalty area and presented them with a gift wrapped opportunity. But that's priced into the Pau selection now. Emery can't be that bothered. As he keeps on doing it.

But in your big games you need your best players. And Pau been some way off that for a while.

As per Palace, most of us looked at that line up and were a tad worried. Even against a Yanited side as dire as this one.

If our gd was better than Newcastle we finish 5th: ergo it's worth a point.

With Villa, you tend to know how the game is going to pan out within a few minutes. You can sense the mood, approach and mentality.

Within 3 mins today, you could see we were shit scared.

We gave them 5 yards all over the pitch.
There was no closing down whatsoever, we stood off and stood off.
That allowed Man U  to build up a head of steam and start stroking the ball around with ease and confidence.

Did DID shit the bed, again.

We were frightened to death by the occasional, by the magnitude of what was at stake.

Emery talks about mentality. It starts with him, and on 3 massive occasions, we have royally bottled it.

We did look very passive most of first half. I guess the plan was to go for it second half, without the red we would have every chance to get something out of it even one down at halftime.  No way we where going to get something second half down to ten and Olsen in goal.

Exactly, and I can't work out why so many on here are willing to ignore just how bad a decision it is so they can instead blame Emery and the team. We were shit on the day, no one denies that, but plenty of teams have played shit and won a game with a goal against the run of play and that's what should've happened today.
