As many have said previously, yes there were plenty of tickets for a lot of matches, but they were all singles dotted here and there.

The club seem to make it as hard as possible to buy tickets at times. Myself (member) and my brother (not member) attempted to get tickets a few times, but the number of times we were left looking at sitting seperately, we fucked it off. Who wants to go and sit on their own?

Conversely, and this is another thing that others have said, i am MUCH more likely to buy a season ticket than I am a handful of individual tickets for matches because with a season ticket, i bake it into my routine for the next nine months in advance.

It becomes part of what I "do". Whereas an individual ticket is more of a one-off 'inconvenience' almost.

Oh and there are a lot of clubs who do not let you choose which seat you have when you buy a match ticket, you choose the block and they assign you a seat.

They do this precisely because of the 'single empty seats' problem, it makes it much easier for them to flog them all.

My prediction is, inside the next couple of seasons, we'll have that (and it'll go down like a lead balloon).

I emailed the club just to see where I stood on the membership points/ waiting list front and this was part of the response -

Season Ticket Waiting List:
The season ticket waiting list is currently under review as part of a planned restructure. Currently, we are unable to confirm individual positions. However, each supporter currently on the waiting list will receive an email with full details once the update has been finalised.

The ticket sales page is going to be a car crash for even more games now. They are whipping up demand.

Imagine the points we could have accumulated from attending games next season if we won the champions league and got relegated to the championship at the same time……..

I think it was still possible to get tickets together but you needed to be on the ball on the first day of availability. A mate of mine bought tickets for him and his teenage grandson together for about two thirds of games last season and consequently jumped 37,000 places in the queue for season tickets.

My lad started going with me to matches a couple of years ago. He is a member and is on the waiting list. I am too, but much higher up...so very little chance of both of us 1 day sitting together as ST holders.

Quick question for those with a Season Ticket using NFC. Did/can you load it on to a smartwatch rather than a phone?

Me.

Me too. I quite like watching a match and not having to chat to someone.

I don’t recall ever seeing anyone do it and just looked at the Wallet on my Apple Watch and my old season ticket doesn’t show even though it’s still on my phone.

And me. I only get to the occasional game as in Yorkshire but usually go on my own.
