Villa provide Villa Park expansion update as season ticket holders relocated

https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-provide-villa-park-31754229#ICID=Android_BMNewsApp_AppShare

Double speak.

Making things better, by shitting on the regulars.

As someone who was worried about being displaced earlier, I would have accepted it. We need higher capacity, and we need to to box smart. It's shit, but this time next summer most moved fans will be fine.

I was moved from the trinity upon relegation, I love my current seat even more.

I cant wait to see the stadium once it's plus 50K.
I have been a ST holder for 57 years and every time I have been forced relocated I have had an inferior seat. Was
on halfway line middle trinity and twice moved along until i was level with penalty area. (For expanding corporate areas) Moved to upper trinity in 2013 after my father passed away because no concessions in that area. Moved to seat upper trinity on halfway line, was then moved to Doug Ellis Upper when we were relegated in 2015 to an absolutely shit seat top corner of stand almost level with corner flag at Holte End. Got middle trinity halfway line seat back when we got promoted and now being moved to near the penalty area away from halfway line. So don't tell me I will love my new seat more, you patronising g*t. How many of the prawn sandwich brigade were there in Division 3 and in the championship and in the crowd of 12000 to play Charlton in Division 2 in 1968.  They can't even be bothered to give a goodwill gesture of a discount or a store voucher for the inconvenience, because they know that if i do not renew my ticket then somebody will be waiting to grab it. Angry doesn't even get close. Europa League ticket prices are going to be sold at prices in excess of most clubs Champions League ticket prices. Screw the supporters for the sake of an extra few quid which barely makes a pin hole in the revenues.  If normal businesses screwed their customers like football clubs do then they would leave and take their business elsewhere to a competitor. Being a football fan my options are BCFC, WBA, WW so in reality no option except take it or leave it. Rant over.

I have sat with my mates for over a decade, we all travel a considerable distance to home games. As a reward for our loyalty when the upper Trinity was shut and we watched years of dross, not to mention the grim days following the Villa home and away in the third division they are now moving me over a dozen seats away to sit next to strangers.
While my love for the Villa will live on my presence at B6 will not.
Bad news for me but great news for the avaricious plans of the Villa as they will now be able to punt my seat on a match by match basis and coin the money in as they really intended.
I hope the good times go on for a number of years but when the Villa slip down the league in years to come they need not send me a begging letter asking if I wish to return. Like many once the habit of B6 is lost it will be difficult to rekindle it.

Mate I get your're angry right now. But it's very likely your mates will be close by after the move.

I got moved stands after relegation and ended up with the same people round me!

Cheers Max, it is a mixture of anger and sadness that made me write my diatribe. Hopefully I will move with my mates but otherwise it is over for me.
Unfortunately it is mainly sadness on my behalf at the manner in which OUR club is selling its commercial soul for fools gold which will disappear when the good times sadly slip away.

Oh well that Stourbridge Season Ticket looks nailed on now.
As someone with Aspergers the continual change and process requirements around gaining tickets combined with the actual price means I won't go to Villa Park again.
Sad day

That's not bad for Stourbridge.

Gutted for those that are displaced. I find it's not even just your friends that you'll miss, it's the familiar faces all around who you'd give an acknowledging nod to as they pass you in the concourse, or as they make their way up and down the steps.

I've dodged a bullet.... I've had 'that' email, but it looks like my seat in Upper Trinity A4 has survived unscathed. It's now the same seat but rebranded, as part of A4 is now A5.

[EDIT] Looking at that revised seating plan, looks like I've lost my quick full time exit. I used to be sat next to a gangway, but that gangway doesn't look to exist any longer. At least my seat is in the same spot I guess.

Ok thanks
I was more meaning the new seat numbers, I’m trying to work out if it’s just my seat number that’s changed or if I’ve been moved

It should have specified in the email from the club (*if you had an email from the club?)....

Quote
Your Seat

As part of our long-term vision for the Club, we are continuing with the Villa Park redevelopment project to deliver an exceptional matchday experience for every fan. This includes the realignment of gangways and the addition of new seats, including 15 new accessible seating positions.

The physical location of your seat is not impacted by these changes. However, due to changes in other parts of the stand, there has been a slight change to either the block or seat number of your seat for the 2025/26 season.

Looks like I’m on the move then
Only a few seats up but I would like to see the seating plan to work out exactly where I am now

Edit - maybe it’s not out yet

This I like:

As part of this new scheme, the Club has confirmed that the 20% charge on ticket resale has been removed, and all supporters will receive 1/19th of the cost of their season ticket should it be sold on the exchange.

So supporters who are on the list and have been to games this season don’t need to bung the club a tenner ?
Can someone answer my friend Frank's question please? (not for me...honest)

My understanding is that members who have been to a game this season don’t pay the £10fee.

I’m on the waiting list for a ST and like the cull and the idea of prioritising those who have actually been to games over the past 2 years. But why oh why do they allocate 1 point for league game attendance and 2 points for cup games? Spending circa £70 for the Man City / Manyoo / Wolves league games last season for example gets me 1 point each, whereas attending the 3 home FA cup games for £75 combined gets you 6 points. I don’t get that logic.

Attending midweek games from London without a car is really difficult but I can just about do it with planning, which the European games allow as dates are fixed for all games when the draw is made. Domestic cup games are a poxy lottery to anticipate.

At a guess because we don't know if we will get any home cup games or all of them. And we don't know if a home cup game will be against Tottenham and a sell-out, or Gravesend and not.

Because it’s really about incentivising cup games not loyalty and follows on from similar approach to allocation for Preston and Palace tickets.

Currently cup games are the main games they need to incentivise.
