Looking forward to hopefully getting a decent beer (Guinness) for once at VP.

I love Guinness and I love Villa Park, but I won't be having any at a game. I imagine 'Shit London Guinness' will be starting another account on X.

Is Red Bull not as bad as betting advertising?

Kids get addicted to the hideous stuff and some have even died by over drinking it - hardly fitting to be associated with a sports team

After next season we will still probably have a betting sponsor the same as we now have an "energy drink" sponsor. They just won't be on the shirts.

I reckon it will be poured as if they've dropped an Alka Seltzer in it

That looks eerily familiar!

11 Prem clubs currently have gambling companies adoring their shirts

Villa included.

They'll all be looking for new partnerships come the summer when the ban comes into effect., although clubs will still be allowed to strike deals for shirt sleeves, pitch-side hoardings and more.

So there's going to be a scramble to find replacements.

Will it be a seller's market, driving down what's sponsors are prepared to pay?

I hope Calvo's been busy. With SCR etc. the need to maximise commercial income becomes ever more important.

We're way behind the Greedy6 on matchday income, so we've got to make  up the difference elsewhere. We're doing pretty well with what we get from the Prem and TV money

Qualifying for the Chumps League would really help in terms of additional tv, prize money and gate receipts; but it would also strengthen Calvo's hand when trying to do deals with prospective sponsors.

Wonder who we'll end up with on the shirt?

Something just as exploitative and horrible, like crypto or currency exchanges, would be my guess.

^^ Hopefully it will be an APT that pays more than a crypto or whatever. Newcastle had their £25m a year APT allowed as fair value, so that should be our benchmark as a CL club (fingers crossed).

I'd imagine Calvo has been working night and day to find a sponsor otherwise he's finished. Let's not forget he failed to find a shirt sponsor for last season at Juventus. Monty can probably give you the details as he loves Juventus but even the Jeep shirt sponsorship they wear this season is more closely tied in with the Juventus owners rather than Frankie knocking on doors.

Eleven PL clubs all looking for a new shirt sponsor isn't the ideal environment to bring in a big deal but we have and continue to raise our profile so hopefully we'll be top of the list of those looking to invest.
