If Villa start fast and aggressive, get an early goal, big ange will be pleading for mercy and say "take the points mate, just don't hurt us" and the final 80 mins will be  a "disgrace of djon" style yawnfest.

I spent the night dreaming that I was on the way to this match, being given lifts by my Sister, people I worked with and old girlfriends without ever actually arriving, so don't ask me the result.

I blame the Sagwalla.

Full of hope, dreams, terror, ill-foreboding. Must be matchday.

It may have already been mentioned, but the match in the 92/93 season where we needed to beat Spurs in the PL title run-in.

We battered them, Saunders hit the woodwork about 8 times and we drew 0-0. It was then we realised it might not be our year...

I was at the game, I think it was a widweek game and I drove up from London. I think that was the day that I thought the Gods were against us.

I've always put it down to that goal Steve Bruce scored against Sheffield Wednesday in added time. Fast forward 20+ years and he was the one who stopped the rot when we were free-falling in the Championship. Then Deano came along and the rest is history!

Life is strange...

We drew the away game 0-0 that season as well and again we absolutely battered them. We really were there bogey team early to mid 90s.  So many memories.... 5-2, 4-2, 1-0 Staunton pen, 2-1 Earl Barrett, 4-3 Saunders, 1-0 Bosnich Klinsmann, 2-1 Yorke mazy run.... Happy days. I read yesterday that of the pathetic 7 league goals scored by Stan Collymore four of them came vs Spurs.

It was Coventry wasn't it? Easter Saturday.

The Argus came out before the ref blew up at Newton Heath.

Cov was the Easter (Fergietime game at Old Trafford) - Spurs was a couple of weeks before. Massive queues for the Holte that night too.

Huge, huge game tonight. I’m really looking forward to it.
Weirdly, I think Man U might nick a point at Chelsea too.

That we're playing Spurs and Man Utd makes the games even bigger, given I detest both clubs.  There'll be some weird results this weekend I reckon, I just hope we're not one of them!
