You'll have to forgive a few of us for not being full of confidence. Last year we welcomed the division's worst team to fortress VP under the lights on a Friday, where a win would have seen us go top - and the bed was very much shat.
There were some very poor ref calls given against us that night in fairness. Pens not given goals disallowed etc

Ange Postecoglou on whether he will rest players against Aston Villa, considering Tottenham play in the Europa League final on Wednesday: "No, we are are certainly going to go out there to try to win the game tomorrow and put out a team that hopefully gets that job done."
On whether he was worried about protecting the integrity of the Champions League race: "I'm not sure about the integrity. There have been times this year when we have had to field weakened teams because of injury. Does that affect integrity? So, if people are thinking there is some sort of competitive balance that exists or doesn't exist over the course of a season, I would be very surprised if people were questioning our integrity to try and win a game of football tomorrow.
"I will put a team out that I think will do its best to win a game of football, yes."

Perhaps if we didn't keep saying it's going to go wrong, it might not so often.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on Son Heung-min: "He will definitely play tomorrow, whether we start with him or not we will have a look at. But he definitely reacted well to playing the other day.

"There were no issues with his foot and he has trained well. It makes sense for him to get more match minutes. That could be as a starter but if not he will definitely play at least half a game tomorrow."

Sounds like he's taking it very seriously if he's already planning half-time substitutions. Some people might see that as a pre-season tactic, but Ange is playing 4D Buckaroo again.

The i hope as soon as he steps on the pitch we stamp on it.

I think a few tasty early doors tackles might focus their minds also

Ref is Peter Bankes - not the worst of all of them and in 22 prem games has issued 83 yellows and 3 reds - one of the lowest this season for all refs

If Son starts warming up, I'd send Cash over to the sidelines with instructions to rub his legs and lick his lips suggestively. His legs and lips, or Son's. Either works.

Perhaps. But perhaps if Villa didn't have such a history of Villa-ing it up, we wouldn't say it so often! (I wonder if over the years the most common theme in your match report headlines might be something along the lines of "Villa and the jaws of victory" :) )

Under Unai the Villa way is to win. Often. Especially at home.

I'm still not sure what I'm doing to influence results.

Don’t worry, it’s not you, it’s me. I lost my lucky pants in an unfortunate accident.

Negative beliefs transmit themselves through everyday behaviour, this translates on match days and when there's a negative and nervous vibe it transmits to the players.

We've been like it for a long time.

If this were true we’d lose every time I set foot in the ground.
