We've looked good going forward but got to take our chances. Ollie unlucky not to have another in truth. They're a good side, no matter how much that might stick in the craw, and we've more than matched them.

PGMOL is a circus.

One of the worst displays of refereeing incompetence I've seen in ages.

Fully expect an even worse one in the  2nd half.

Curious why people think that wasn't a penalty? Newcastle defender put his leg down, missed the ball and clipped Ollie's trailing leg as he was running.

According to Pat Nevin on 5Live, Watkins is instigating contact by dangling his leg towards the defender. It's sneaky.

The sort of penalty Kane has been ‘winning’ his whole career.

Ludicrous justification.

Rezaa: Can't help but think if Villa had a reliable GK like Allison or Raya, Villa would be higher in the table. For the supposed best GK in the world, Martinez always has a mistake in him, particularly near post

Haha!

Watkins has been outstanding. Asensio less so.

I fancy Malen for this type of game. Asensio has been out to space since Brighton away and is duffing easy shots.

We've got a good bench now so if players aren't playing well we can't be carrying them.

Not been the best of weeks for Asensio, has it? He needs to be hooked at HT, for Rashford, Ramsey, Bailey, anyone.

Yup, then they say it’s being clever.

We have been excellent.

We have played some of our best football of the season and should be 2 or 3 goals to the good. Watkins has lead the line superbly and the Toon are struggling to contain his movement.

I think Rashford's pace will also trouble them, so I see him being introduced on the hour mark to play with Watkins.

My big concerm is that Isaak has been very quiet so far and normally produdes something at some point in a game.

Isak and Barnes too. They are proverbial something out of nothing. Our guy who can do that hasn't thus far - MA

Every time we play these, we complain about the ref. We know what they're about, we have to find a way to combat it. Thought we started aggressively but midway through the half sat off them a bit too much. They are there for the taking if we can circumvent their Pulisball tactics. I do fancy Malen and Rashford against their fullbacks though.

I'm also 100% sure that Emi will leave at some stage and be replaced by another keeper.
