I too largely agree with Ashtonvilla.

Me too, though whilst I agree that Bailey was magnificent those days had passed and for Ramsey they're still in front of him.

I also think Maatsen is going to replace Digne as first choice by Christmas.

Feel like Digne has lost a yard and not quite as effective

Has really struggled in the games I've seen. Tell tale signs, not really wanting the ball when high, not wanting to push on at all on overlap as he can't get back. Think Maatsen should start v Spurs, time for him to finally nail that spot. Gives us badly needed width and legs in the team, granted not the best defender.

Yes, but the decline is nowhere near as precipitous as Andy Robertson's despite being a year older, he looks absolutely shot.

Was it wee Andy asleep at the far post when Chelsea's latest teen idol won it at the death?

Yes, and he got absolutely rinsed by some Belarussian kid last night for their goal.

And this is the problem with giving long contracts for old players, they 'still have it' right until the moment they suddenly don't, and then they're usually one of the best paid players and they're useless. hopefully the same thing will (or already has) happen with Salah.

Yep. Which is why it's nonsense to worry about being a 'selling club'. They all are. You might as well be one that gets it right.

The regulations are making life very difficult for us, I accept, but to be in this much of a mess with hours now, not days, left in the transfer window doesn’t reflect well on anyone. We’re in full on desperation mode and doesn’t feel like we’ve been remotely in control since that deflating afternoon at Mold Trafford.
Things are slowly stabilising. Thank you for all your efforts.

I thought Maatsen was similarly asleep for their winner last night, far too slow to react to the run inside him.
