Seeing it reported by The Athletic makes me think that there probably is something in the Paqueta thing.

Although it could be a tactic to hurry Asensio along.

But then, surely we can't be spending that sort of money, he'd be too expensive by far.
Very different players, agree I would have thought his price beyond us, unless we are selling.

I'm not sure I would say 'very' different.

I think Paqueta is more aggressive and defensive than Assensio

Tanswell the other day suggested we’d be after a player or two nobody previously had connected us to. So possibly one of those was Pacqueta.

I'd be surprised if we sign Pacqueta. Would mean we'd have to sell someone next Summer, so a replacement early.

I reckon it's probably more likely that he's available and we're exploring with the hope of PSG dropping their fee demands.

£10m+ for Asensio is crazy considering he's on a free. I guess a loan isn't an option for Asensio as he needs a contract at this stage of his career and he's on a free next Summer.

I don't disagree, but I don't think it would change how we play much depending on who was playing. We'd still be asking them to get on the ball and create. I would much rather have 1 of them and get some pace with whatever £4 we can find behind the sofa.

I wouldn’t say £10m is particularly crazy for a player of that level with a year on his deal. Players in the Championship go for figures like that.

I can get into the debate about the amount of money, but the idea that Rogers isn’t good but is just a consistent statistical anomaly is crazy. It’s in the same ball park as Ollie being easily replaceable.

He’s unplayable on his day. His last day was Celtic. I think the attention has gone to his head. Hopefully, Unai steers him back on course and he plays for us for a decade.

100 million no brainer.  He wouldnt stay with us that long he would want to be another Bellingham and want off.  Too late to sell him now and not sure he will be worth that 100 million in a years time If he carries on the last 8 mths . Might be better in January and hopefully gives the sky media a few good moments to keep the hype and ignore when he plays crap.   Im suprised he got in the England squad to be fair but looking at that squad , maybe not .
Blimey, you don't like him do you?! Harsh.
He's not been helped by the rest of the team being off it, but I've for worry that bringing Asensio may stunt his development.

I love any player in a villa shirt , he has been more miss and hit alot lately but I do think Emery has played him way too much , times he has needed taking off .

Feels unlikely now they've spent the same money on Simons to play there.

Has that made a jot of difference to the cartel this summer. They'll buy him just to smite us.

Well I suppose the point is you’re not trying to get rid of him in 12 months if he’s a player you rate.

If West Ham aren’t willing to loan then Pacqueta won’t be coming here.
