Rogers has been sensational at times. It surprises me how many are quick to criticise a young player like this.

He has undoubtedly been sensational.at times, but has also been very poor in games.  Might be due to his age, but there doesn't seem to be a middle ground with him, he's either very good or poor.

But you’re missing a key point here. Even in his poorer games he’s often still effective - assisting or scoring.

Yep, frustrating as he can be. There’s been plenty of games where he looks rubbish but comes up with the goods.

Looking into it, this is how I think it works (please feel free to correct me!).

So us in 23/24 had a turnover of £275.7m, so we have a maximum permitted spend of £192m, this being 70%.

This is for wages, agent fees and amortised transfer costs.

A-List is for all your registered players for the CL or now in our case Europa League. We have to have a set amount of home grown/trained. Ramsey would have been on the B list as gome trained, but his wages would still have counted towards the Part A and overall costs.

On JJ, the sale fee is irrelevant to the SCR. It helps with PSR domestically, but we're fine with that. Where it helps is the £3.6m annualised £70k per week dropping off.

So we've added £4.6m with Gussand(sp) and likely ~£2.6m in wages for £7.2m, offset by 50% with JJ. Dendonker and Bailey going would give us £10.8m drop off and if we were at  a neutral position, all for £7m in annualised wages and amortised fees to be brought in.

If we can improve turnover to £300m then we give ourselves more wiggle room for the following season and so on.

I think.

This may seem churlish, but in the remaining couple of weeks of the window I want to see 2/3 players in who can legitimately compete for a place in the starting line-up, not a young player who we think we’ll turn a profit on. I fully understand why we’re doing it, but we need some players to augment the actual football team now.

I thought home grown didn't take up a spot on part A for player lists? So we could have 25+JJ or JJ types. But their wages do count.

This would have been a dream for one of our ex posters, the chap who, if I remember correctly was obsessed with the Spurs accounts?

B list is under a certain age isn’t it?

Nope. A-list is 25 players. Eight of those need to be association-trained (Martinez / Watkins / Rogers etc) and four of those eight need to be club-trained (Ramsey).

So even without all that wages stuff, we're currently sending an A-list of 21 players. Or we re-sign, I dunno, Chukwuemeka.  Or Ciaran Clark.

After the error made by Man Utd's keeper today, expect all the rumours around Martinez to resurface this week.

Still not sure how an attacker pushing a keeper away from under the ball is a mistake by the keeper and not a foul by the attacker. I mean it is funny it was Manure but still.....

Asensio is a worry, wrong age, had a poor spell after Rashford got injured and is not the quickest.
We need speed on the flanks at the right age.
