I'm a Beatles fan but always thought that was a dreadful dirge. No thanks.

Sorry to offend the Rock aficionados amongst us, but Ozzy's "Ordinary Man" might be a great unique opening to a match, with a few word changes:
I was unprepared for fame
Then everybody knew my our name
No more lonely nights, it's all for you
I have traveled many miles
I've seen tears and I've seen smiles
Just remember that it's all for you
Don't forget me as the colors fade
When the lights go down
It's just an empty stage
Okay
Yes, I've been a bad guy
Been higher than the blue sky shite
And the truth is I don't just wanna die an ordinary an aston villa man fan
I've made momma cry
Don't But know why I'm still alive
Yes, the truth is I don't just wanna die an ordinary an aston villa man fan
Many times I've lost control
They tried to kill my rock and roll
Just remember I'm still here for you
I don't wanna say goodbye
When I do, you'll be alright
After all, I did it all for you
Don't forget me as the colors fade
When the lights go down
It's just an empty stage
Okay

I know this thread is a bit of fun and they're unlikely to be ever heard at VP. However, I can't fathom why the Let it Be/Emery song never took off.

That would have been amazing, and had the potential, in the distant future, to just revert back to the normal Let it Be lyrics and be adopted as a Villa song in a naturally occurring kind of way.

I've never understood either. Seems perfect.

Rather this than Oasis.

The Beatles transcend music.

Nah. They wrote some good songs but plenty of others have done that.

It's a shame the mancs collared this first because our version is way better and historically accurate but I remember a group of us singing this in a pub in London years ago : "Trinity Road take me home to the place I belong down to Aston to see the Villa take me home Trinity Road" To the tune of John Denver's Take me home country road.

Take me home, Villa Park
To the place I belong
Up the Holte End, cheering Villa
Take me home, Villa Park.

Following on from amfy’s post about people trying to get chants going at a game, I remember a lad at Stoke away in a pre season game a few years ago trying to start a Matty Cash song. It was to the tune of Money Talks (Dirty Cash) “Matty Cash I want you, Matty Cash I need you woooaah”. Safe to say it didn’t catch on but bless him he kept trying for most of the first half, mainly to howls of laughter from everyone around him.

And the existing ode to the manager is truly fucking embarrassingly awful.

Was just about to write the same thing. To hear that below out would be amazing

To the tune of Chesney Hawkes, I am the One and Only

"Malen the one and only,
Scoring goals for Unai Emery"

Needs to score first mind!

Slightly off this topic, but I really didn't like the Allez, allez, allez song being played before the game! Do they think we need to have a recorded version to join in with?

With the amount of folk who joined in i think you may be in the minority - personally i think it is a great warm up song.

And the Yippee Eye Aye at KO is great also
