JJ is not a natural finisher, on replaying all his chances he kept his eyes on the ball all through the strike, he had no awareness of the positioning of the keeper and hit the ball straight at him. He did well in general play but he has to learn the art.

The other three wouldn’t be. They’re no better than what we have already

Van der Ven if you can keep him fit, Kulusevski is class and Archie Gray will be a great player but will end up in midfield not filling in at the back like he has pretty much all season. Boggles my head that their manager had Ben Davies on the bench who can play left centre back which would release Gray to play as a 6 with some mobility….guess I’m thinking too simplistic :-)
I was surprised at how poor Gray's passing was. Expect him to struggle playing CB, but thought his passing would at least be good.

Expect him to struggle playing CB, but thought his passing would at least be good.He struggled on Sunday but he has probably played double the amount of games than was planned for him this season particularly the last couple of months when he has been at centre back with a pedestrian midfield in front of him. He looks like a really good #6 or wide right prospect to me
TBH he is only 18 and probably dropped into a bad position at Spurs. But £30mil does seem to be an example of overhype. I had a quick search of the most expensive teenagers in English football and he is in the middle of the top 10. Some names in there.
Very much not "in English football" though.Mbappe was a teenager when PSG paid £160m for him.
On 31 August 2017, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) announced the signing of Mbappé from Monaco on loan with a mandatory purchase option of €180 million.[63][64] According to PSG's assistant sporting director Luis Ferrer, the shift in Mbappé's decision to join the club was partly thanks to a "convincing" speech given by manager Unai Emery at the Mbappés' home over the summer.
