JJ has to take these one on one chances, could have been all over early. Very happy with the new additions. Commentators going on about Spurs injuries never mentioned ours.

That should have been 6-2.

How that ended 2-1 ill never  know. Flattering  scoreline for spurs. It should have been at least 4 or 5.

Mcginn excellent. Thought kamara and bogarde did well considering  thats probably our plan J cb pairing.

Asensio. Wow wow wow!!! He looked exceptional

Very happy tonight. I hope we seriously  take thia competition  seriously

Special mention for Malen. His run for the second goal wouldn't have been made by Duran and probably not with Watkins either.

Shearer mentioned it just about on 90minutes having talked about their problems all game.

We could have had about 8 today. I can't believe how good our football was at times. That second half spell with the olés -wow. So grateful we took it seriously and produced some of the best football of this season. Seriously, lets just bloody win this thing. UTFV.

Someone should take Ange's belt and shoelaces off him.

Ange looks like he’s done for there. Body language totally defeated.

players still to come back , our leading goalscorer missing , those two to get match fitness

yes the second half will be great

p lop , chelsea , spurs  and arse out ,  it could be :)

And Asensio .. you dont play for real madrid for ten years and be average  , I just knew he would be class , like our new Merson  and great to see Rshford working hard .

Hope the armchair lot enjoyed us.

Best performance in quite some time. Ignore the first half as Spurs didn't show up. The second half was a lot more of a contest and I liked a lot of what we did. Lively cameos from the two new boys, Ramsey and Rogers will get the headlines but best player on pitch by a country mile was SJM. We created so many chances with good football.

Martinez 7 - great save from Son and a lot more assured in general.
Garcia 7 - really solid game. Tidier on ball than Cash and lasted the game well. Looks much stronger than KN.
Konsa/Bogarde 7 - solid game from Bogarde though maybe should be getting tighter for their goal
Kamara 7 - positionally gets caught a bit at times but very good on the ball
Digne 7 - bullied Moore in first half, very solid game but lucky to get away with a fresh air clearance
McGinn 10 - won every duel, captain set the tempo from the off, very sharp on the ball. Bullied them
Tielemans 7 - sells himself too much at times but tidy as ever on the ball
Bailey 7 - got some shots off today, forced turnovers and worked hard. Nice feet for the goal
Ramsey 8 - fortunate goal but bullied Porro throughout. Still touch a bit heavy at times and missed two good chances
Rogers 8 - outstanding first half, easy street really. Bit quieter in second but nice passes with Asensio. Strong as a bull once turned on the ball.
Malen 7 - lively first half, quieter after break but did well for the goal

Asensio and Rashford had lively cameos. Asensio's first touch reminiscent of Grealish here. Good energy from Rashford. Great day for Emery, starting selection rewarded him and subs went well.

Shame about Konsa.
A lot of positives to take away though
