I'd say "tedious" is when dozens of posters take threads off topic, but just one of them is constantly derided and bullied for doing so. The same poster also gets harassed for keeping threads on topic.

Peter Kay:
The chummy everyman seemed to let his facade slip as he brutally ejected two hecklers from a recent gig – a misstep that showed he’s out of touch with the current cut-and-thrust of standup

What in the AI is going on here?

I went to see him last year, I wished he'd have kicked me out, brutally or not, it was as funny as death.

Everyone that I know that went to see him said the same thing. Even the people that you’d expect to really like him. You know, the ‘Live, Love, Laugh’ crowd.

I watched the footage. He's such a cnut that he can turn the moral high ground into a swamp in seconds.

I said to the missus, who'd bought the tickets, it was as if he's just had a massive tax bill and the tour was the only way to pay it, and the tax office were on a staff night out in the audience. He was irritable, gloomy and it all seemed like a chore.

And I loved Pheonix Nights.

I generally want to assume he's in the wrong because I reckon he's a massive twat (though I don't mind some of his work), but it's hard to tell how prickish the hecklers were being from a sixty second clip. If they've heckled for thirty seconds and he's got them thrown out, he's a bellend. If they've been at it for ages and they're ruining it for people who have spent a fortune to attend, fair enough, fuck them off.

The hecklers had it coming and can have no complaints. They were clearly annoying those around them. He's just a twat, however, so nobody comes out of it well.

Should have gone to see Michael McIntyre instead.

I think that's a bit unfair.  He's far better on Inside The Factory than that bald chap who used to do it, Greg(g)* Wallace.  I've not knowingly watched anything else with Paddy McGuinness in it mind, so no idea how good he is in those.  But my little girl loves Inside The Factory, so I've watched that a bit and he at least doesn't come across as a condescending prick.

* not sure how many 'G's he has, but he strikes me as the type of person who'd have 2 of them)

Oh, and I agree with SE/CDBF.  Not sure what Footy is meant to have done here that's so different from what anyone else does.

Oh he has two g's alright, he famously rebuked someone on twitter for using one when requesting a shout out for their charity bike ride.
