I imagine yesterday we saw what they had in mind when signing Malen, him playing with Ollie, and it's just being a question of getting the rest of the team set up right to make it work.

I thought it telling that Emery in his post-match comments highlighted that they still don't know his best position. I think that's the issue with game time for him, as he's clearly not ousting Watkins as first choice, but deserves time himself.

It's important for players to get a regular spot they can feel comfortable in, there really aren't that many that can switch around into a number of positions easily.

Yep, give him a yard of space around the box and he's lethal, we need to find more ways to create those gaps for him.

He is a good player - like the idea of him and Watkins against lesser teams.

Absolutely. All the evidence is building and it appears we have signed a top striker for very little money. I do love a striker who can put it in the corners, keeper rarely stands a chance. Malen seems to be more than able to do it, Angel was brilliant at placing it in the corners, always a sign of a top striker.

He doesn't look like a striker who can play isolated up front but with Malen drifting in from the right, Watkins in the centre plus drifting in from the left, we may have a formula that actually works, at least for this season. Now we just need Rogers to work that space in the middle.

Great that it's an option, granted Burnley are possibly the worst team in the PL. Not sure it would work against better teams. Means shoving Rogers to the left where he isn't that effective. Just think our full backs, Maatsen particularly could be got at.

What was positive for me v Burnley was how effective Watkins was. There was less of the two of them getting in each other's way like with Duran.

I was thinking more rocket than torpedo. Not since Dalian Atkinson have I seen a striker generate such velocity.

Maybe Eamonn thinks he's more effective as a sub.
