We have Onana back. Him and Kamara together in the middle would work for me.

                Martinez
Cash    Konsa     Torres      Digne
         Kamara     Onana
McGinn                        Rogers
          Tielemans
                Watkins

Gives solidity, ball carriers, ball players, and pace up front.

Yeah i want to see kamara and onana together too. That looks good on paper

We conceded two goals against Forest with that central midfield because we couldn't keep possession. I'd be amazed if he tried it again.

We concede two goals against lots of teams, with lots of difference midfield combinations. So I'd suggest preparing yourself to be amazed.

I doubt it. He’d resisted it thus far. He wants a ball player there.

Saturday was the first time they have both been fit though. The double pivot of those two, Youri as the 10 then a combination of 3 from Watkins, Duran, Bailey, Rogers, Ramsey would, on paper, look decent.

What, he chose not to play a fit Onana with an injured Kamara, or a fit Kamara next to an injured Onana?

That's not the biggest surprise.

If that was true you’d have a point!

The last game Onana played before being injured while with Belgium, was the defeat to Liverpool on November 9th, and he hasn't been deemed fit enough to start since. The first game that Kamara was involved in having been out since last season was the Juventus game on November 27th.

I appreciate that everything has to be viewed through the "Onana is awful and a waste of money" lens, but let's not just make things up.

He was on the bench against Southampton and Leipzig. Now who's making things up?

Him being on the bench is not evidence that he is fit to start a match.

Yeah, that's still you. Introducing Onana back from the bench like he has done with pretty much ever player returning from injury doesn't mean he's "resisting" playing Onana and Kamara together.

I mean, maybe you're correct. Maybe Emery, a manager with a history of playing two defensive midfielders at every club he's ever had sustained success with is never going to choose to play our club record signing (Onana) alongside the player who many people seem to believe is our best midfielder (Kamara) on the strength of them playing 15 minutes together at the weekend.

But it strikes me as unlikely.

I literally found out how to do it the other day. Looking forward to more opportunities to use this new found skill tbh.

If he wasn't resisting playing them together id have no argument whatsoever so wouldn't have posted. so that's just illogical.

I appreciate you think people who disagree with you are "w*****s" but I am allowed to have a different - and perhaps more informed - view than yours!

You're welcome to have whatever opinion you want. It just seems to me to be very clouded by your peculiar hostility towards Onana.

Maybe the world isn't as black and white as your world view? So best to live and let live?
