I'm with the optimists.

Fuck these synthetic gobshites, with their 'unprecedented' bad run - that stretches back about 15 years to when they were still shit.

3-1 to the Villa.

I fear we will be too passive here, which won’t expose Citeh’s weaknesses. We just don’t have that sharpness in attack, or pace. If we try to sit in that will 100% suit them.

They are floundering like a fish out of water.
We don’t have a killer instinct

We have Onana back. Him and Kamara together in the middle would work for me.

                Martinez
Cash    Konsa     Torres      Digne
         Kamara     Onana
McGinn                        Rogers
          Tielemans
                Watkins

Gives solidity, ball carriers, ball players, and pace up front.

I wouldn't be dropping Duran after two goals (and good ones at that) in his last two. Maybe he'll play them both? He has suggested it. With Onana and Kamara in the middle, it might work.

Playing Watkins wide and Duran up front feels as though it could work and would give us pace on the wings but I can’t see Unai doing it.
It would certainly signal our intent to go at them rather than plod along and play into their hands.

With our lack of attacking options if we can get Oli and Duran to work it would be very useful to get us through to January and also the retune of Bailey and Ramsey.

I'd go with Duran up top and Watkins in the Bailey role.

We conceded two goals against Forest with that central midfield because we couldn't keep possession. I'd be amazed if he tried it again.

We concede two goals against lots of teams, with lots of difference midfield combinations. So I'd suggest preparing yourself to be amazed.

We’re away for Christmas so I’ll miss this one which means it’s bound to be our best performance of the season and a resounding win.

I’d be interested to see Oli on the left of attack with Digne behind, McGinn on the right with Cash overlapping. Duran up top and Roger’s ahead of Onana and Kamara.

It could work or Oli could get in his own head for not starting up top.

We cant give up on it because it struggled against forest. Needs to be given a few games i think and given time to gel and build a partnership up.I think it was more the back four than those two goals tbf
