The lesser spotted clean sheet! Rogers or Kamara motm.
Yes I thought Rogers. Hope his injury at the end is not going to keep him out.

Watkins isn’t a worry for me, he’ll still assist and score plenty. Philogene on the other hand, he’s just not good enough to be our only alternative wide right.

Yep, Diaby was quality and a massive upgrade on Philogene. Qualifying for Champions League and then having to replace him with a 2nd division player stinks. These rules are a silly.

We didn’t have to replace him with philogene though. We could have banked the £6-£7m and spent £30m plus on a player.

Or kept kellyman and seen what he could do.

Kellyman isn’t a winger, nor an upgrade and I thought we had to raise funds by selling Diaby and Dougie.

It's a long time since I was so cold at a football game and, to be fair, and despite the mistakes, I thought both sides did well to put on as decent a game as they did in those conditions.

Well getting to the ground ringing wet and thoroughly cold wasn't a great start. I don't think I've ever been at a win I've enjoyed less than today.

Thought that we didn't really have to get out of third gear to win and thats a good job as some of the decision making in the final third was very poor. Defensively we were never stretched, midfield was patchy and whilst its good to see us creating, its pretty shit the amount of times we didn't even get a clear shot away from a good position.

In all, good job we weren't playing anyone decent today. And whilst UE can point to playing a few players through a poor patch of form can lead to success, it seems almost cruel to keep bringing Philogene on given his lack of pretty much any attribute a PL footballer needs. I feel for him when the cry of 'FFS' is the loudest thing heard all game when he gives the ball away for the 15th time.

The only two pre-match threads I've ever started were Wednesday and today. 100% record and I'm claiming an assist. :)

Predicted we would win them both as well.

Thought we were really sloppy going forward but I'll give them a break because of the conditions. 6 points was require and that's what we've got.

Really tough few games coming up again now though.

What's that now Duran has started 3 games and scored in all three.... But I was shouted down when I said Duran should start over Watkins because Aparently Watkins brings more..... As a striker the only thing I'm interested in is goals and Duran brings more so as far as I'm concerned should start more than Watkins does

3 points. A very cold 3 points mind you. The team seemed to be in second gear for most of it. A few more goals would have warmed us all up.

You're telling me! We missed so many chances towards the end to make it 2-0! I was dreading Southampton grabbing an equaliser!

A win is a win is a win, though. Thought John McGinn was excellent today!

Dougie definitely. Diaby I think is less clear. I’ve heard reports we weren’t looking to sell be we got a good offer and it gave us wiggle room with the uefa salary caps but I’m not sure we had to sell him.

I thought kellyman was a wide player? We spent 15m on philiogene dont pay that and keep kellyman (who we sold for 20m) which means between both deals its only a difference of 5m
