Wasn't the kellyman deal intertwined in Maatsen coming across and cooking the books

Not a classic but 3 points so who cares.

I am aware it’s a grumpy thing to mention but I really can’t stand those “can I have your shirt?” signs - they focussed on one kid who had different players on either side to double his chances.

It’s the scrote parents who have their kids doing this to then scalp the shirt on eBay. I fucking hate entitled beggars and I’d ban this shit from the ground.

I agree….why not put all the players shirts up for auction after the game….obviously all proceeds to charity….soon kill this crap off…

Impossible to make any comment on the match without mentioning the weather. There was no point the ball was going in the direction anyone wanted it to. The fact that with that being a leveller, we were able to fight out a win is to be commended. Onwards and upwards. Hopefully to somewhere less windy.

Decent win, iffy performance from what I saw. Anyone off to complete a fun Saturday in the bad weather by dancing to the Human League at Brum arena tonight?

Maatsen did ok, we did look much better down that side once Digne was on, created so many openings Down that channel then .

Absolutely batshit day, my worst ever journey to Villa Park.

I got the 11.00 from Marylebone but just after Warwick we had to turn back because of a tree on the line. Fair play to the rail network, they had buses lined up to get us to Brum about 2.20, and jumped off just before Digbeth as traffic was at a standstill. At New street there was confusion as train after train was delayed an cancelled, before an announcement at 3pm that there would be no trains to Witton. I ran ou to the taxi stand which was about 25 deep and eventually got in a cab with 3 Saints fans and a Villa fan, dropping us off outside the Trinity. I ran up to the steps of the Holte and loads were leaving with a couple of pints - I tried to get in, showing my ticket but a jobsworth told me I had to go to a turnstile and scan it. A couple of other more mature stewards apologised about their colleague and helped me in the right direction. I got in and saw one minute of added time before the ref blew his whistle. Loads of people were left behind at New Street who probably  gave up as the only way to get to the game was taxi, so that will explain at least a few hundred empty seats

Based on the second half I thought we were wasteful and didn’t keep possession well. McGinn and Kamara shone for me, though Digne looked ok too. But I was very grumpy after my journey plus the shit stewarding and wanted to at least see a goal so was angry at our wastefulness, with some poor finishing and decision making in the box.

I got a lift home from a mate - I’d neglected the lift up as he was leaving early and I needed more sleep this morning - but honestly wish I’d just turned back from New street at 3pm. Nobody’s fault, just bad weather, but a lot of hassle for 46minutes of football.

Three points and a clean sheet in atrocious conditions I'll take that.

I thought kellyman was a wide player? We spent 15m on philiogene dont pay that and keep kellyman (who we sold for 20m) which means between both deals its only a difference of 5m

The £15 mil to bring Philogene back works out at about £4mil on PSR balance for this season, but Kellyman is a direct £20mil off our PSR worries.

Cold and wet and not to much to get excited about. Must of been really hard for both teams to play football in that.

Got home and had to drive straight back into Brum to get my daughter from work as all cross city teains cancelled, roads were carnage.

Kamara changes what we are as a team, integral.

McGinn was great. Why Watkins didn’t square to him twice when he would of had a tap in i really can’t fathom.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, Leipzig and Forest two really big games now.

It’s not just kids. I often see adults, usually the same people, begging for shirts at away games. Shameless fuckers.
