It's a good chance for some Season Ticket holders who don't get the chance to go to an away game to have an away day, or it should be.

It's what I was hoping.

Never mind - some one else will have my season ticket next year, & maybe I'll go to Wembley in the back of 3 £25 FA cup games when I'm not struggling to get to the other 19 getting moved to all times and days of the week.

Lets see how it goes mate, i'm in your boat too. 25 years a season ticket holder, seen us win eff all, witnessed constant misery yet because i've had to prioritise our CL games with their piss take pricing this year I may not get to wembley if we get there.

They can have my season ticket in that case too.

I’d hope the entire fanbase would rebel if they put anyone before season ticket holders.

I'd also be surprised if any ST holder who wanted a ticket to the semi final didn't get one. I only got a season ticket in 2015/16, but still got semi and final tickets in 2015.

More ST holders now I suppose...

Then the day trippers and newbie members club

It’s a tricky one. Some people can’t be season ticket holders for 25 years because they might only be 21. They could have gone around Europe and here home and away for the last 5 years. Hopefully both get Wembley tickets but who deserves first dibs?
Season ticket holders full stop,I had to stand on a freezing cold days and nights when we were going through the shit period when finally we sank into the championship, couldn't give my seat away in those days, where were the loyal Aston Villa supporters then?

I know we've had this debate many times but a 22 year old will have been at school during the Championship years. How do we encourage them to become supporters if we're saying they can only attend early rounds cup matches? I say that knowing full well that there's no easy answer.

I've no problem with season ticket holders who have attended more games than me being given priority ahead of me and I don't think I should receive special treatment for being older than many fans. As a season ticket holder, I should get preference over someone who has only attended three games, though, regardless of whether they started watching Villa in 2020 or 1950.

It should at least have gone down to ST holders and two FA Cup games instead of the cut off at three. That's just nonsense.

I’m guessing (but don’t know) that the club know full well that tickets for this won’t get past the second wave.

Yep they are setting a precedent so that buying cup tickets for home matches becomes more attractive and rewarding from now on.

Wasn't it Man Utd who made season ticket holders enter their cup scheme or something like that a few years back?

I assume you mean the third wave? I reckon there’s only just over 3k in waves 1 and 2 so at least 2.5-3k tickets for us lot in wave 3. Toss of a coin if I get one but I’m happy with that.

It’s definitely going to be harder to get tickets if we get there again. The number of season ticket holders and the number of tickets for a Wembley final are very much in the same ballpark park now. If they give people who attended the 3 home cup games priority, there would be ST holders who miss out because of that

Can we defer worrying about who gets Wembley tickets until we actually get there?

As always, I agree with BV.

Hang on...

It's usually safe enough to do so, unless you're in Off Topic or Music.

Nail on head . The club have got this one wrong I'm afraid . If rewarding loyalty means day trippers over long term ST holders it's a sad state of affairs .

And they know it,  I contacted AVFCSupport on Twitter (X) showing the Preston criteria and the Renewal AMFY posted on here and usually their response to my questions is the next day or if the next day is Sunday 2 days. This time though the reply was 5 minutes advising me to email Fan Complaints which i have done.  As Amfy said this is a breach of contract and if you are a season ticket holder you need to complain they can't be allowed to get away with this.

The bigger concern fit me is the GA+ whatever it is called tranche.
Reading between the lines it seemed for a Euro away I wanted but couldn’t get as a STH, the corporate tranch of tickets went down to a lower criteria.
Quite how that fits with this issue would be another juicy question.

I guess I’m referring to very pricey GA+ STs getting more privileges, but if they are (expensive) STH, then I guess that avoids the contractual issues.

I'd be interested to know what you class as a day tripper and a newbie member

As a longstanding Member, Villa Cash or whatever it has been called over the last 15 years who lives 130 miles away and wouldn't justify a ST despite going to around 15 home games a season and was at the shit show of the 2015 Final, what category would you put me in??

I wish people would realise that not everyone is in the same position, doesn't mean they are any less a supporter

For the record, I actually think they have got it wrong and it should go to all ST's before Members who have been to the 3 cup games, as i'm sure that ST's who don't always have the chance to attend away games as they don't have the usual required points, would jump at the chance to go

It's just nice to see Members being listed on the criteria to give us hope of an away day, I think the last time that happened was Man U in the LC
