Going back to the fixture date, I can't see any of the games being played on the Sunday as 5 of the teams through all play on the following Tuesday. I reckon there will be one game Friday night and the other three spread over Saturday.

They can move the Prem fixtures.

Would they though? Some teams might have already put tickets on sale. Seems simpler to just play the games over Friday and Saturday.

Is that their ‘racist’ bitey player ?

Alleged, although seems to be 1 player's word against another, so surely hard to charge him?

First time since 1984 that none of Arse, Chelsea, Liverpool or Manure have made it to the Quarters of the Cup apparently.

Maybe, but having a track record for biting people probably won't help his cause, even if it's a separate offence so shouldn't be considered.

Let's hope he doesn't have the 'being a brilliant footballer' part of Suarez.

If our national football media actually have any interest and knowledge about football history, this is a classic FA Cup pairing to be trumpeted. The two greatest English clubs of the 19th century and the first two to win the league and FA Cup double.

I'm sure it was at Preston in the third division that two Villa supporters got on the roof of their stand at half time and got stuck and had to be rescued along with their Villa flag. Anybody else remember it?

I remember being at Preston when some lad shinned up their flagpole and pulled their flag down; im sure I still have a chunk of blue flag somewhere

Preston away in the 72/73 season was my first ever away game. It was the first game of the season, we’d just been promoted and we took thousands to the game. We won 1-0 with Willie Anderson scoring. Come to think of it this might have also been the fixture with the flag incident.

I live just outside Preston, been here for eleven years.  I'm looking forward to this one.

Preston at home was my first visit to Villa Park in the 72/73 season. I think we won 2-0.
It’s good to get a cup game involving 2 proper, non manufactured clubs.

Hopefully  if we get past preston, Bournmouth beat city. They probably wouldnt be able to sell 30k tickets meaning more for our fan base as tickets for wembley will be tough for semis

Indeed: the media hasn't a clue, but you know football only started with the Premier League in 1992?  ;)

Sleeping on it, I'm glad we've got an away draw now. It will stop us from getting too cocky, given our away record this season: we'll have to earn a place in the semis!

Maybe, but a first trip Wembley appearance in 25 years (and even that was for the Autowindscreens Shield) is probably the sort of thing that would easily turn several thousand Dorset daytrippers into massive Cherries fans for the day.
