Nothing like a TV spectacle late on a Friday in front of an empty ground, with a makeshift side, to show off our celebratory anniversary special kit.

On the plus side, we'll be the first team to make it into the 4th round.

Roll up, roll up, now playing at a half empty stadium near you.

8pm ko
45 mins 1st half
4 mins added time
15 mins half time
45 mins 2nd half
6 mins added time

Match ends at 9:55pm.

Extra time?
Add on 5 mins coin toss etc.
15 mins 1st half
1 mins added time
5 mins half time
15 mins 2nd half
2 mins added time

Match ends at 10:38

Don't get me started on pens.

We're looking at finish at almost 11pm.

Good luck getting home if you're using public transport.
Extra time has been scrapped until semi and finals.

Yeah, but there will be all that VAR time added which will amount to the same thing....

Extra time has been scrapped until semi and finals.

Not according to Pravda

"Anyone can face anyone in this round, with an open draw containing no seeded teams or regionalised fixtures. FA Cup replays have also ceased this season, meaning each tie will be decided on the day, with extra-time and penalties if games are level after 90 minutes."

Yeah, it's the League Cup that goes straight to penalties, not the FA Cup. The League Cup has extra-time in semis and final but not the other rounds.

On a saturday, West Ham would probably have brought around 4000.
On a Friday night, 1500 tops.

The £85k bounty for televising the game represents a loss

The West Ham game is on a Friday at 8pm.

christ !!

The possibilty of going out of the FA Cup before it actually starts properly on '3rd round Saturday'

We've gone out in November before. 1970/71 R1 Torquay(a) 3-1. 1971/72 R1 Southend (a) 1-0.
Strictly speaking, the earliest date in the season we have gone out was 15th November 1885. We beat Walsall Town 5-0 in R1, then lost in R2 away to Derby 2-0.
Admittedly the top clubs did start earlier then and it was not long after we got rather good at winning the thing.

West Ham play the following Tuesday so our game won't be on Sunday (or Monday).
Friday night possibly

Not possible, as stated. I'm busy that day.

It's okay, I mixed up the dates. Stewart Lee is the Friday before we play West Ham in the league.

I don't know why they've picked our game. Well I do know, I don't understand though.

It's a dreadful pick. Admittedly, the draw was pretty shit, but even so. I can't imagine a single non-Villa/West Ham/Small Heath fan will be interested.

Nearly as mental as choosing Falkirk vs Raith as one of the televised ties of the round in Scotland.

I’m giving up this year
I’d love to win the FA Cup probably more than anything but I’m not going to be bothered about going because they’re not bothered about playing it seriously, so I can’t be arsed just like the club

If we spawn our way through to the later rounds I’ll jump on the bandwagon, but recent cup history had taught me not to hold my breath
I’m really fucked of with it all so bollocks to em

Extra day to recover before the Everton game, maybe we will bother our arses this season? Doubt it, mind.
