Palace must absolutely love playing us. Last three occasions has been a gimme.

Sarr totally ripped us to shreds on the break twice.

But isn't that exactly what has been happening consistently recently? We are carrying on playing the same way and teams have sussed us out.

Our goals against is looking grim. We can still win this but why do we have to make it so difficult.

As it happens this is exactly what I thought would happen but didn't say so earlier because there would be a pile on about being negative.

I want our team to carry on being successful but it's not just bad luck we keep getting into these situations. As well as staying positive and creative there are times to be more careful surely?

Anyway UTV and here's to a better second half.

We’ve been sussed out, been the same for a while now. Lose this and don’t get anything out of the next 2 or 3, the owners will absolutely fire Unai and it’ll be a sad day.

Our defending as a team has been wank since January, it’s not good enough.

Utter pig ignorance from Emery that he's done nothing to sort out our shambles of a defence in almost 12 months.

That's an odd expression.

Problem is midfield, the problem is always midfield. This system is just too open unless the central two are very careful, very cautious, and very disciplined. As it is, there's just a big fucking hole.

Frustration, but really crap, midfield rubbish.
I hold back from criticizing Bailey , but fuck he gives the ball away
Defence caught out twice for goals from Sarr and could have had another
They must love playing us

Don't agree about the sacking nonsense but he is absolutely spot on about being sussed out.

We are so shakey when teams hit us on the break.  That said we’ve missed a penalty and hit the bar.  And they’ve been very very lucky a few times.

We will win this 4-2.

Yeah I still think we'll create chances. Some of our set plays have been decent and it's just last ditch clearances.

We just have too many forwards out of form. Bailey can hit the bar one minute and then just cut inside and lose the ball the next attack and Rogers is losing the ball so often so if those two are off the boil it's a struggle to get the ball early to Ollie like the goal. We also know the alternatives on the bench aren't great but perhaps we need to get Philogene on early as he will get plenty of the ball with the current situaiton.

I thought the first team was weaker and the squad overall was stronger. It's now clear the first team is far weaker without Diaby and Luiz (and an ineffective Bailey), and the squad isn't any stronger. We've lost 20+ goals and not made up for it just loosing those 2. We can't control or dictate play like we did last season.

Indeed.

2023 Luiz walks back into this team.  2024 version: not so much.

As well as Bailey being off it (but much better today)  Philogene gives us nowhere near what Diaby or even Zaniolo could give us off the bench.

Maybe we should've taken the points deduction if it mean we didn't have to weaken the squad who got us 4th last year. And weaken it we have.

Serious questions need to be asked of Unai now. If we lose this they need to seriously consider if he's the man for us. Not really.

Good bantz.
