I’d look at playing Mings in goal next to Emi.

This made me chuckle it has been a horrible long week

Sitting in a cafe not so long ago I have my back to a couple of 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' fans in Birmingham. They are brummie by their accents and speaking as if one of them was a coach at the 'The Mighty Reds YNWA'. Made my stomach lurch at the sheer twat-ness.
I’m depressed because I thought we’d go for the LC but SUE knows best. Cherries - fine margins we should’ve held on. At spuds and their minds must have been overloaded as the the 2nd half commenced with instructions which went out the window within 4 mins.
Brugge and were ok first half, 1 brain fart and what follows is breathtaking ineptitude which is now ripe for us to play the best team in Europe away to improve their goal difference. Fucking write off this match. 0-0 I’d take that.
Watkins, McGinn, Bailey please bench.
I’d try :
Martinez
Ned Konsa Torres Maatasen
 Onana Kamara
Tielmans Rogers Ramsey
         Duran

Think I'd try:

                 Martinez
Cash (if fit) Konsa Torres Digne
Rogers Onana Kamara Ramsey
       Tielemans
              Watkins

Tielemans dropping into a midfield three when we're out of possession, and getting forward to support Watkins when we're attacking.

Picked similar teams. The midfield is very physical and I'd like us to lean into it more. Double pivot of Onana and Kamara.

Also we concede far fewer goals with Cashy on the park, as rash as he can be on ocassion, so I hope he's fit.

Not true, but I think it’s a wind up anyway.

Ads imight not be as clever as he thinks he is, but I’m sure he can count.

We had one shot on target last night, I think similar against Spurs. Rigadon, if you expect us to score from every chance, does the same apply to the opposition? If so, we lose either way.

We've created little in these games so that Watkins misses are judged more harshly than they are. I thought his shot which whistled wide last night was a great bit of play, Mignolet was rooted to the spot and not expecting it. He's been a bit unlucky Ollie, and is getting so little service at the moment due to our inability to get into dangerous positions, that when he does receive the ball, he's a bit "cold".

Yes, very unlucky. It looked to me like it was going in if not for the deflection.

Hmmmm. I hope Unai can pull a rabbit out of the hat for this one. We can’t defend, the midfield isn’t right and Watkins, McGinn and Bailey look dreadful. I’d maybe start Kamara and Onana in midfield, with Tielemans supporting Ollie, and Ramsey and Rogers wide left and right.

Need to tighten up massively or this could be even worse than Spurs.
I said about the Kamara Onana Tielemans thing in the post spurs thread and I agree McGinn and Bailey need to be on the bench for this one.
Knowing Villa and SUE, if we lose, more likely to be closer than we think. If was furious on Wednesday, so we’ll see if that translates into a change in form on Saturday.

It'll be pretty shit to throw away 2 winnable games in cups to then get 2 battered in the 2 league games in less than a week and gain 0 points...

I think our best chance is to put in a Bayern type performance. Keep things really tight, and try to hit them on the break. If we go toe-to-toe with them, in our current form we'll get absolutely battered, 4 or 5 nil.

David Coote is the referee.
Gawd help us! Let's hope there's a decent VAR 'cos Coote doesn't make decisions.

Right now my team would be...

           Martinez
Konsa  Carlos  Torres  Digne
        Onana Kamara
Philogene           Ramsey
            Tielemans
             Watkins

Play as per vs Bayern; save Rogers until a little later in the game; deploy a strong double pivot; look to bring McGinn, Duran and Bailey on later, to being some energy and start to stretch the opposition.

I dont want to see Bailey, SJM or Watkins in the starting line up , they have ben awful for weeks , you cant keep playing Bailey into form .

Wouldnt be suprised to see Jaden as a wild card but got to start with JJ , and wouldnt mind Kamara and Onana starting this .

Obvioulsy Digne back , no idea about RB , just dont like Konsa there to be honest but probably will be him with carlos ( hopefully one of his great games and not brainfart ones) .

going to be tough but they havent always played well this season.

Hoping for a  1 1    but probably 3  1 .

I'd stick with Mings instead of Carlos at the back.

Coote is one of those refs that are 'open to suggestion' as far as I can tell. I would get someone on the pitch to stay close to him at all times whispering positive outcomes which he will accept and process without question, like the weak minded guard at Jabbas palace in Return of the Jedi.
