Martinez
Konsa Carlos Mings Digne
SJM Onana Kamara Rogers
       Tielemens
         Duran

Right now my team would be...

           Martinez
Konsa Mings Torres Digne
        Onana Kamara
Tielemans             Ramsey
             Rogers
             Duran

Pushing the most out of form lot out, ie Bailey, McGinn, Carlos, Watkins. I think if worked on in training Mings and Pau could play aside.

For the 7 people that have put us down for a win, you can get very good odds if you fancy a bet. Think I’ll keep mine in my pocket for now.

I'm one of them, but I've never been into gambling maybe that's a good thing!). I just feel like we'll get a response on Saturday.

The last few games have been weird.  This isn't Emery 'being found out' as I've read on here recently.  The dodgy results have actually been down to poor finishing and outrageously weird WTF moments like Mings last night.  Put chances away v Bournemouth, Spurs and Brugge and we win or draw those games.  I really don't count the shite we served up v Palace in the cup as it was a shadow side.

Liverpool are decent especially at home 'under the Anfield lights' (puke).  We will be under pressure in phases of the game of course, but we are a decent side too.  Put the chance that we will have away, and we can win the game. I'm surprised so many Villa fans seem to think we will get battered, but I suppose it's because we probably feel that the run under Emery can't last.  It fucking well can last. Let's believe in ourselves for once.

Bournemouth we were a bit unlucky, but we absolutely got what we deserved against Spurs, and that was a good shoeing.

In the end we did but until Rogers went off I still thought we were more likely to win, at half time I thought it had been a textbook performance, soak up their early pressure and take over the game like we had in the previous two visits.

We had one shot on target last night, I think similar against Spurs. Rigadon, if you expect us to score from every chance, does the same apply to the opposition? If so, we lose either way.

We've created little in these games so that Watkins misses are judged more harshly than they are. I thought his shot which whistled wide last night was a great bit of play, Mignolet was rooted to the spot and not expecting it. He's been a bit unlucky Ollie, and is getting so little service at the moment due to our inability to get into dangerous positions, that when he does receive the ball, he's a bit "cold".

Eamonn, football cliche alert but goals change games.  In the amazing performance vs Man City and Arsenal (twice) last season, we took our chances.  Vs Spurs Watkins had a a sitter in the 1st minute and then a 1 v 1 when it was 0-1.  They weren’t half chances.  Either of those go in and we win that game I’m convinced.  Momentum and confidence are so so important in any sport.

We are going to lose or draw games every now and then / it happens. If we turn up at Anfield with any hint of meekness we will get battered.  So I’m betting (or not as the case may be!) that we won’t.

An intriguing game that we shouldn’t fear.

I'd be happy if we just moved out of first gear for this game. Be a very tough game but all teams go through shit  and this might just be liverpools off night. Happy with a draw. Definitely play Onana and Kamera....

I just looked at our starting eleven against Brighton about 13 months ago when we were at the height of our powers. We beat them 6-1.

From our starting eleven we have lost Luiz, Diaby and Zanioli. We now have Rogers, Onana, Maatsen as extra players, a fit Mings and Bailey and a much improved Tielemans and Duran.

I believe we now have a stronger squad and am also at a loss as to our current form. I can only put it down to Unai is currently trying to find his strongest starting eleven, experimenting, trial and error, new formations, style of play etc and our players need time to adapt accordingly.

I do believe that come January, Unai will achieve his aims and we will go on a Man City style run (they are normally brilliant from January til May).

In the meantime, we just have to be patient.

Liverpool 3 - Villa 0

I just can't see any reason for such a downturn in form. We've got largely the same nucleus of core players, and we spent a fortune in the summer. I can't see that the players are being asked to do anything different than the way we've always played.

If we held on against Bournemouth, we would have gone second wasn't it? Bar last 10 mins, performance was decent that day. So maybe we are all overreacting a bit, to an admittedly terrible week.
Emery has been good at this before, remember Leicester rinsing us early on in his tenure with counter attacks at Villa Park and he wasn't long addressing it.

Also an important few days and hard conversations required with some senior players. Palace, Spurs, Brugge score against us and we hardly react. That's unlike us. Attitudes and performances from a few of them seem off.

I'm sitting with a mate on the Kop for this. Would be nice to keep the jubilation from the Scandinavians around me down to a minimum.

I’d look at playing Mings in goal next to Emi.
