Thought we played some excellent football for large parts of the game. Interesting to see us play with Duran starting. He really gave us a physical presence and occupied them.

• their gk kept them in it.
• I thought they were a horrible, cynical team.
• Onana made loads of good interceptions and played well.
• Tielemens excellent as always.
• Rodgers was fantastic again. What a signing he’s been.
• Carlos has been really good since the Ipswich game.
• Bailey is becoming a concern. Another poor performance.

We are a bloody good team, with the best Manager we have had since Sir Ron Saunders.

Pau, Maatsen, Rodgers and Tielemans were exceptional last night.

Halcyon days to be a Villa fan.

Also, the toilets that I went into the Lower Holte before the game had been given an upgrade - new hand dryers, urinals etc.. and it seemed as though they are painting the interior of the LH - this is the first upgrade since the days of Doug Ellis, when the Holte stand was rebuilt.

John McGinn interview.

Thanks mate, great interviews 🙂

I just love this interview with John McGinn. I really like this interviewers style - does anyone know who he is?

My brother said Emery went spare at Nanny McPhee for quite some time after they hit the post from a corner. Even got back up off the bench to bollock him a bit more. Poor bloke.
That’s made me laugh more than it should

Morgan Rogers- just Wow! What a sublime player, this lad has the lot.

The rest weren’t bad either.

Amazing times to be a Villa fan, God knows we’ve waited for this, bloody awesome.
He's great but his shooting is poor. He's like the Brazilian Ronaldo who doesn't score.

What tune are you putting this to? I can't make it scan.

I don't know what they were whinging about on the first one. Konsa caught him but he'd already made the fair tackle, it was just a coming together.

Also, only 3 mins injury time? I mean, I welcomed it but that would have been 10 in the Prem.

I was ok with that. The less mins the better as have another big game on saturday

We are watching something very special at the moment. With a fully fit squad I'm really not sure where it will all end...

As everyone has said superb performance. Some of the football was electric. I thought Bologna caused us a couple of early problems with the long diagonal ball right to left, from which they had a couple of early chances and then hit the post second half, but other than that we totally dominated.
My son was saying on the way down to VP that they’ve had the heart ripped out of last years team, so thats some context,  but still our football was superb.

Im not really one for hyperbole, but honestly November feels massive. In the league a good Bournemouth side at home and Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea away in the league (and Palace at home) and Brugge and Juve in the champions league. With this manager and this squad, if we can come out of November/early December with say one league defeat and say 3 wins and a draw out of five league games, we are in the mix for the league.

I think the big chance for progress comes after Christmas. Last year, our second half of the season form was 9th. With this squad, there is a chance of a big improvement there.

What another great night. Unai and the team are giving us some brilliant memories. We got stuck in the car park for ages after the match, problems on the Lichfield road I guess.

Because the final whistle went immediately afterwards, I'd forgotten just how good JJ's chance was at the death - it REALLY should have been 3-0.  He'll be kicking himself after that.
