Great news on the financials but we can’t play a stack of cash at centre half, can we?

It would have given Carlos competition, I'm sure.

Quicker on the turn too

Indeed we desperately need a centre-half. The reckless decision to risk a week or so with 2 fit centre halves has cost us points against very ordinary opposition.

Agree , poor planning , the defence is a mess it really is.

It’s nothing to do with poor planning.
It’s about timing.
Clubs dont decide they need a player in the last 48 hours of the window, and then try and go and get him.
It’s about availability, other players moving, negotiations, and ultimately, brinkmanship.

Why buy a player on day 1 of the window when you can save a months salary if you can wait a few weeks.

For instance, anyone who thinks we decided to go after Rashford on Friday and land him in Saturday is seriously delusional.
I suspect talks have been going on for weeks.
You dont negotiate a multi million pound deal for an elite athlete, in a couple of days, whether that is Marcus Rashford or a centre half.

Absolutely this. It shouldn't need explaining really. I'm sure they had a list of players who they would like to replace Duran with in the event that he left. Rashford I presume was on the list. I doubt they decided  a couple of days ago.

But that’s how it works in Football Manager and I took Leyton Orient to the Conference League.

That's why the planning stage should begin in November / December . Rashford and ascensio on Feb 2nd smacks of panic buys

Sometimes you have to allow for the fact that not everyone is a master negotiator like your good self.

If only Monchi hadn't spent the last 5 months playing Candy Crush Saga at BMH. :(

I understand we are all a bit nervous about Marcus and Marco, but if they come off our team surely has to be better with two genuine world class players added to it?

£500k a week on 2 loans that haven't made any impact this season is a gamble. If there's 1 person who can make it work it's Emery. Just need a centre back in now.

So you can play them in defense rather than your best midfielder?

Jacob Tanswell
@J_Tanswell

Aston Villa defender Kosta Nedeljkovic will join RB Leipzig on loan for the remainder of the season. Still needs to complete medical but an agreement between clubs is finalised.

No doubt there will be incomings. Seems like quite a bit of 'churn' for a January.

🚨🧨 Aston Villa are interested in Sunderland’s 18 year old winger Tommy Watson & are expected to make a bid.

You know he’s on similar wages right?

No i didnt know that. Are we also paying 70% of his wages too?

According to Ornstein we're paying all of Asensio's wages.

Which is a far worse deal than Rashford's, if one cares about such things.

Yeah i wasnt aware of that and i absolutely  agree with that. My god what the hell are we doing
