We do this every window. We were linked with loan for Phillips and the forum went from absolutely not to maybe Emery could fix him to ok worth the risk. And we didn't come. Then it happened with Sterling, and we went through the same process. Even Felix, twice!

We may well just be a club that agents know will draw some attention if their player is linked with us. If Uni Emery is interested in him, maybe he's worth looking at again.... kind of thing.

Taking a ‘gamble’ on Marcus Rashford vs some of the absolute tripe we have signed before, and some are incredibly wound up by it.
I’m not sure I get the reason to be quite so vexed ?

I think it's because he fed those kids that time.

The bastard.

Blackly.

(I actually don't think he'd be a good signing at all, but he does seem a lovely fella.)

Changed my mind. Yes to Rashford. My justification:

1. Lack of game time means it is logical to phase him in as a sub. This should maintain harmony in the camp and with the player.

2. Covers both Watkins and Ramsey. Critical because there’s limited cover for Watkins and Ramsey is injury prone.

3. Scored 30 goals a few years ago. So clearly  a good player,

4. The more socially conscious players at Villa the better. Id love us to rebuild him and give him his voice back.

5. The reduced spotlight on him at Villa should mean people are less likely to be triggered by his views and he will be happier.

Where's he from, Nose City?

No, it's an odd thing to pick up on.

Is it? We called Benteke "Tiny Ears" and people lauded the observation.

£300k a week is a lot of money to see if someone has been training properly on their own for the last month. There's no time to get him up to speed. Loans have to hit the ground running. There's 3 months of the season left.

Four months left, we don't finish til the end of May.

We also wouldn't be paying £300k per week.

Tone, context. Posts about Benteke's adorable ears were by and large free of the word 'FILTH'.

And Unai is not infallible on signings. Yes, he pushed for Rogers, but he also handpicked a return for Philogene.

Pretty low-risk and Philogene may have come good in the coming months. Emery was open to him staying but Jaden wanted more game time.

Wherever Rashford moves next I’d imagine what he wants/needs most is a good environment, a great coach and a club who don’t hang him out to dry in front of the media at every opportunity. That might end up being us, it might not but there’s a good player there somewhere and his next move is probably his last chance to prove it at this level.

Aston Villa are close to agreeing a deal to sign Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United. #AVFC set to cover a big portion of his wages and bonuses.

🚨🟣🔵 Marcus Rashford and Aston Villa, deal close as negotiations are now progressing to the final stages.

Loan move until June, salary covered and discussions ongoing about buy clause.

📲 Rashford has also spoken to Unai Emery, he’s aware of Aston Villa desire to get him.
