I think he can play centre-forward, or wide. Which is what we need.

The same lazy Marcus Rashford could replace Ramsey out wide in our midfield? No chance. He doesn't try a leg if not played on the left of a 3 with no defensive responsibilities. Very few coaches tolerate that these days, his career is over at the top level bar doing something like Willian did at Arsenal and ripping us his contract. He had a solid few seasons at Fulham afterwards and got back on track.

Grealish could actually compete with Ramsey for that spot once he got fitter and could easily play up with Watkins. We are being linked with fading show ponies like Felix, Asensio, Rashford but if we want one of that ilk we might aswell get back the one from Solihull, he might actually be worth the gamble. I'm irrationally pissed that we just haven't gone and got him back.

Same with Luiz to be honest.

Grealish would be a bad shout IMO. He’d be on a significant wage, has never played a full season in his career. At 29, he’s a reclamation job at this stage.

I realize the same applies to Assensio and to a lesser degree, Felix. But they don’t have the same baggage with Villa that Grealish has. And the way we play under Emery would not work with Joe. He slows the game down, not speed it up during transition.

Grealish was outstanding in counter attacks from memory, weight of pass usually spot on and gifted at protecting the ball. That was Buendia's big issue and one Rogers needs to work on. He combined really well with likes of McGinn and Watkins, so it's not a question of windering if he will fit in.

The baggage factor is overplayed. Id back him, even if he's a stone overweight, all day over the other three to be a success under Emery.

Rashford would be a terrible signing.

That’s where I’m at.

Agree. Rooney said he can't even be bother to keep himself in shape which is most important if you want to attract a buyer.

Got Drinkwater as opposed to Carbone ring to it

Rooney speaking about staying shape...

Rooney was in right shape aged 27.

5 Premier League title and 3 Champions League finals incl 1 win to his name.

Granted aged 38 has the body of a 50 year old.

I suspect Wazza's life outside of football is chaotic in the extreme. Stevie G and himself need to get back into the gym.

Tottenham recently made an offer of €4M to Valencia for 17y/o Otorbi. It was rejected because they want a minimum of 5M and a % of future sale fee. ❌
Aston Villa now prepare an offensive move for David Otorbi for the last days of the transfer window.

To be fair to him, he wasn't playing there, and I'm sure there's a clip of him while at the end of his career, playing in the US, absolutely busting a gut to win the ball back and setting up a goal for his team to win whatever silly trophy bowl thing they were in the finals of. He never looked it, but I think he was fit when playing.

I know, I know. It was just an excuse to show this photo the fat fuck.

So we are only looking at loans?  We get back in the top 20 for turnover, double our income, make money from the Champions League and yet we spend like paupers?  Surely not, unless we loan with an obligation to buy if targets are hit.

What the actual fuck?  Loans? We’ve just made 65m pounds haven’t we?  What’s going on?

Never heard of him or seen him play but it doesn’t scream of improving the first team.

Passing, yes, but protecting the ball is not the same as progressing. Man City signed him primarily because of his ability to slow the game down and hold the ball: a skill set they didn’t have. Rogers is the better long term option to protecting the ball. He needs to improve his progression and decide when to do what. But he’s potentially a much greater talent. Plus Ramsey. Why would we need Grealish?

Check the poll on Grealish thread for his baggage factor and his and his dad’s response following the December clash.

Enquiring about a player doesn't relly mean a great deal, does it?  I can't see Asensio or Rashford coming on loan unless their parent clubs are willing to pay 80% of their wages, which is unlikely to happen.  We will be looking at younger players as signings and possibly an experienced CB on loan.

It’s like that Japanese bloke found 30 years after the end of WW2.
There are still a few Greasy lovers in the jungle, fighting a war that has already been won.

When greal left, the club made a big deal about signing Ashley Young, "the legend returns" fanfare to soften the blow of selling our best player, I could totally see  and it wouldn't suprise me if monchi did approach judas, or even Ashley Young to cover Cash ::)

I'd rather leave Rashford at Yanited than help those fuckers out.

He'll probably end up at West Ham, anyway. The gullible twats.
