That would basically be all the money on one player. Worth it?

Amortisation over a contract, no. Then you have most transfer fees are paid on drip these days.

🚨💣 Aston Villa are weighing up a bid for Matheus Cunha after selling Jhon Durán — Wolves value him at £70m.
@MailSport

Cunha, a much better option than Felix and Assensio.

Seconded.

Do we have room for more than three in the CL squad now with the players out? It must be at least four surely?

Are we getting in their head before Saturday or do we think the interest is genuine?

Considering Duran has been here 2 years, his fee was small to start with, practically all of his sale will be profit. Probably enough to spend a decent amount, but not all on Cunha. He's worth more than that to Wolves though

Cunha can play more positions than Durán, I think. He's older, so probably has less of a potential upside. But,  even then, he's only 25 so hardly at the tail end of his career. He is more established at this level and seems to have fewer question marks over his character. I could certainly live with Durán out, Cunha in, much more so than Durán out, and bringing in the new Stephen Ireland from Chelsea.

My Tatters mates think he's had his arse in his hands for the last month or so since rumours of a move started.

I'm a bit surprised UE hasn't bought more players in he's worked with before, Baena seems the right profile but paper talk of the Saudis offering big money for him as well.

I agree.

Felix and Asensio sound like us going after players who have already rejected us once.

You’d hope so at nearly twice the price.

Unai has probably watched Felix play 100 games, got to trust his judgement. And who is to say he hasn’t wanted to sign for us for two years, we just haven’t been able to afford him till now.

Although Asensio is, reportedly on circa 290k per week.  Can't see that being a realistic wage given our FFP struggles, and he's 29...and he's been bang average for the last couple of seasons, but you never know, huh?

Would be really disappointed if we signed Asensio tbh.

Am I reading them right, do Cunhas stats look up there with the best in Europe for his position? Not seen a lot of him but my reservation, and I think he might be wanting an alternative move anyway, is that is he a bit similar to Ramsey and Rogers, a strong ball carrier rather than someone who can unlock a deep defense with a pass?

Felix would at least offer us an alternative.

Monchi: “In the last summer transfer market, we were close to bringing him in (João Félix). In the end, he decided to go to Chelsea after the exchange with Atlético. He has always been an object of our desire.”
@partidazocope

Monchi: “João Félix & Marco Asensio? They are two similar players & Unai’s taste. Neither of them is easy. One at the salary level & the other at the cost level. But yes, they are players who attract Unai.”
@partidazocope

Monchi: “If there is a coach who is known for recovering players & getting the most out of them, it is Unai Emery. In the end, if the player has talent, & João Félix has it, it is a matter of finding the right environment.”
