Sverre Nypan, playing for Rosenborg over here, 18 years old midfielder supposed to be the next big thing form here and there is a lot of speculation where he is going. Local press says he s been in Birmingham with Aston Villa today, Manchester also today or yesterday, in talks with Arsenal and Atlethico Madrid interested and also some of the big German clubs. Good that we are on it though.

CB is surely a must, but the choices seem pretty slim by the sound of things.

Perhaps Jonny Evans could be a backup for the last half of the season- appreciate he is getting on, but would be cheap and experienced (like Colin Calderwood back in the day).

Would love a statement signing like Jonathan Tah or Guehi but that’s not going to happen.

My head has gone to the “someone is better than no-one” rhetoric

At least with some experience

We must have someone almost signed to have let Carlos go….

If not it’s a bit Bruce esq and a tad ridiculous to have 2 recognised centre halves

It is absolutely pretty poor that we have at least one game with two senior centre halves available. It’s a situation we need to rectify promptly.

I mean we've carried 2 injuries there before so been this light, but I get the point. Bade was clearly close last weekend and has had a change of heart, but the club has rightly decided to take the chance to shed Diego's wages. I'm sure a centre half in some gise will be in this week.

Thought he was going to Arsenal.

Well we need too, because we’re currently relying on a guy who’s just back from a severe injury to play a sequence of games. It’s not a great place to be.

Yep let’s hope they pull something out the bag. If not that’s two poor windows in a row for Monchi. He doesn’t seem to have the contacts he was built up to have. So look again next week and if necessary make changes!

Typical January very hard to get good players, we are not alone.

He's so far moved on the two players that most people have moaned about not being good enough (one of whom was on seriously big money, the other for good profit).

We've signed an exciting forward player and a well regarded young player in a position everyone has been screaming we need reinforcement for.

I reckon that's not a bad window so far. We're linked with plenty of quality and deals are notoriously hard to do in January.

Did we sign that Turkish kid in the end? I never saw any confirmation of a deal.
