Not sure this window qualifies as masterclass yet, but its clearly been thoroughly researched, with one eye on the now and another on the future.

If we have a decent hit-rate on the future ones then we can start to spend bigger on the ‘now’ players.

Aston Villa boss gives Leeds United permission for Emi Buendia and Daniel Farke reunion

Leeds wished for a loan last summer though it never came. Since beginning only two of 17 matches in all competitions this term, Emery has freshly told our colleagues at Birmingham Live that the playmaker could make a switch in the coming weeks.

It is a no from me unless Barry stays or we bring another forward.
If he does go, I would want a high loan fee.

FUCK NO, Villa!

If Buendia leaves, someone can pay us a transfer fee. Otherwise keep him. I've no wish to do Leeds a favour.

Only way I'd sanction a loan is if it's with an obligation to buy. Say £20 million if they go up, £15 million if they stay down.

but we don't have space in the European squad for him as things stand.

I think the important point is 'not Leeds'.

In the crazy world of transfer fees anything is possible but I’d be amazed if we could get £15m for Buendia or is this just a Leeds tax?

Seems pretty reasonable for an established Premier League player who would almost certainly become their star player as soon as he signed. There is no benefit to us loaning him without an agreed fee, whatsoever.
