I reckon we need an 'out and out' left winger who hugs the line as much as possible. reasons being:

1) Ramsey and Rogers too much of a likeness and cover same territory.
2) Ramsey doesn't 'assist' or 'score' many goals.
3) Stretch the play and give our midfielders more space to weave their magic.
4) Takes an eternity for our left back to get into a crossing position.
5) Will create more space on right wing and give Bailey more room to operate (a bit like Liverpool do with Salah).
6) Watkins will start heading towards the goal posts again instead of the corner flag.
7) When playing out from the back, more space to find a midfielder.

Sell Ramsey, put money towards left winger. In addition, get better right back and world domination will beckon.

We could do with a decent January, as hard as it's purported to be. We all got excited because we signed a lot of players in the summer, but in reality we brought one player in Onana who's trusted to start games, and then he only often manages half a game. Barkley is a useful utility player to see out games, but Dobbin, Iling-Jr and Barrenchea all went out on loan and probably weren't really wanted. Maatsen looks promising but was a lot of money to spend on arguably our strongest position.

We didn't really strengthen the first team suitably, and we could do with at least a couple of very good additions in January, preferrably bringing some pace to the attacking spots where it's badly needed.

Good analysis where i think we are at. I said similar things at start of season after we loaned out enzo and illing jr.

It just shows in this league you can't stand still or you get punished

Its clear to me that felix was one of our key targets after missing out on him we were stuck and didnt bother going for a similar player. Maybe dodged a billet as he hasnt really done much for chelsea in the league only in conference league

David Coote looked like he'd dodged a billet in that video.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make.

Coote looks like he was drawn by the Aardman studio.

For me a right back is a priority. Cash not consistent and not the quality we need if are going to stay at the level we are at.

Alex Baena left winger/old fashioned inside left a realistic signing and would add the creativity we currently lack.

We have 10 games until the window re-opens, would imagine the entire right side is massively under scrutiny from Unai - it’s pretty clear he doesn’t rate Cash as his starting or long term right back, Ned unless he gets a few starts in those 10 games you’d suspect might get loaned out late January for rest of the season. Konsa is a decent option in games that we need to try and be more solid but in the games we need to take initiative we need a more proactive option there plus Konsa is still one of most important centre backs.

Bailey and Philogene haven’t contributed anything like enough at wide right and McGinn is never a wide player.  If we get to January with that still being an issue I can see recruitment focussing there….its why I never understood those who were desperate to get shut of Diaby in the summer.

Dont think he rates ned much either as he is getting very minimal game time. Can see him probably be loaned out again maybe championship or a team in europe

The arguments about Diaby's contrinution have been done to death, but at the end of the day it was the club's decision to sell him, and their decision not to bring any attacking players other than JPB in.

I hope it’s not the case but after 10 games it’s beginning to look like the last transfer window has stalled our progress.

I was disappointed at the end of it. Considering we've got a massive jump in the difficulty of games being in the Champions League compared to the Conference League, they made some very odd choices. I know that everything was done with one eye on PSR, but even so.

Diaby was very in and out of games, Philogene just hasn't managed to get into any of them as of yet, I question whether we've really missed the former just yet, too early to say perhaps.  It's also a bit Rich of me to moan at this stage, but Ramsey and McGinn are better through the middle and playing them wider in a 442 ish formation hasn't quite worked in the same way this season.  Left sided midfielder, a natural one instead of shoe-horning them in, would be my preference.  Pacey, good passer.
