Assuming we can't get Mbeumo, what about Yoane Wissa? He wouldn't cost as much and is effective, quick and can play wide.

Have watched Mbeumo for quite a while and see him as the perfect RM player for us

It already contains things that didn't happen.

And as for "(no) big transfer window in January as, a) not many good players available and b) would cost too much", given our most recent January experience was signing really, really good Morgan Rogers for relative buttons I'm not sure the logic there stands up either.

It’s only my opinion and, so, if we get some super signings in January, I’ll quite happily eat humble pie. It’s also probably because I feel a disconnect from the Club this season that I’ve never felt in all my 50+ years of supporting Villa. Chris Heck’s policies have a lot to do with that and I, for one, feel badly let down.

Grealish on a Coutinho like loan to buy gig? How do they work from a PSR perspective.

Critical 6-8 week block for the likes of Buendia and Philogene I think in their Villa careers. If Emery can't get a tune out of them I think we might bring in another attacking player maybe on a short term deal with those two going out on loan.

Id say the RB/RCB issue will roll into next summer, if we couldnt get Carlos out in the summer we will hardly let him leave mid season.

Mings, Carlos, Buendia and Digne will have around 18 months left on their deals so getting near decision time on contract extensions or planning their exit.

I dont think it is critical for either of them Jayden wasnt bought to be an instant first teamer - so going out on loan wouldnt be the end - they probably werent expecting Bailey to be quite as bad.  And we have outgrown Buendia.

I wonder just how much better a Cash or Ned would be with an aggressive hard working RM like Mbeumo. Bailey is almost inexistent defensively…

Also, I think we need a fast defender. Maybe Maatsen or Ned could do that, like Walker used to bail the back line. We are terrible for pace with the current crop.

Wissa plays primarily as a striker or occasionally out left. Not sure he's what we should be spending what little money we have on.

He would be a top signing. Happy to break the bank to get him if we can

A pipe dream but Nkunku would be a great addition. Can play across the frontline, not getting much Premier League game time at Chelsea and he’d be pure profit on FFP terms for them.

Would he? I thought they paid a fortune for him from Germany or somewhere? £50/60m maybe?
correct £52 mil summer 23, if he is an 8 year deal? so looking at £40mil or thereabouts.

Apologies gents, I thought they got him on a free transfer.

Bringing back Grealish would be a terrible idea. The last thing we need is a big earner who can’t stay fit, with reduced pace and who slows the game down in the final third.

Thats how we are currently playing already. Id prefer mbeulo to grealish tbh

Konsa and Mings both have pace across the back.
