^^ So what was ‘new info’ about the Chamionship players that you didn’t know about?

I didnt get the 5 years part once thats passed its pure profit on any sale

Sigh. If someone signs a five year contract and their fee amortises for five years, their contract has ended and there’s no sale and no profit as they can leave on a free transfer.

It works like this. If we’d signed Mings for £25m on a five year contract, the fee would amortise at (£25m divided by 5 years) £5m a year. So, after two years that would leave £15m unamortised. If he then signed another five year-contract, the process would start again, and the fee would amortise at (£15m divided by 5 years) £3m a year. After two years of that, anything above £9m would be a profit in the accounts, anything under a loss. I’m pretty sure he has signed another contract since he joined, don’t know lengths of either of his contracts, or the timing of his second one, or his initial fee (for certain), hence the round figures for easy maths.

By the way, we were in the Premier League 5 years ago.

Not sure why you needed to add the word "sigh" FFP is a complex matter just because you getting it you shouldnt be putting a word like that for those that dont get it.

Thats like me knowing how a endoscopy prodecure works i tell you, you ask again a similar question about the procedure as you dont understand  it and i say to "sigh' its un necessary.

No point replying if you are just going to get frustrated all the time if someone isnt understanding it 100%

But thanks for the explanation anyway

It’s not that complicated and I’ve explained it to you before.

BAck to the matter in hand.

Let's spend some money, on a player that has a creative spark and some pace for the front line, and maybe on another Right Back, other than that we're well set.

Yeah back on subject i agree its getting tiresome.

Can't see us spending big in january. We dont usually. But right back and diaby replacement is the two main areas we need to address.

Centre back i would look at in the summer

My favourite thing about amortisation was when we signed Jaden and Archer back, Dan Bardell (who?) mistakenly mused on a podcast that we could sell them again and it would be 100% profit as they're homegrown, which conveniently forgot that we'd had to pay to buy them back.

It gave me visions of teams just repeatedly selling and signing the same players and declaring huge profits. Man City would probably try it

RB and another attacking wide option. Philogean is nowhere near ready this season to be a serious option
I agree, he looks totally shot of any confidence. Doesn't look like he has any pace either.

Would be good to get a former Bath City legend in the squad (14 games in 2018 as an 18 year old).

Agreed. Biggest drop off for us this season is Bailey’s form. Get the Mings/Konsa axis back together and we’d be good to go.

So you’re saying Pau shouldn’t play? That would be crazy. Bailey’s drop in form is important, but the biggest issue we have is the lack of control in midfield.

It was a the weekend but so far this season they've been very good. Silly mistakes at the back and offering very little up front combined with cow's arse banjo finishing has been our main problem.

I’m not sure it is “silly mistakes” or at least those are too common to be a coincidence. I’m not sure we have controlled the midfield well in the league this season. Individually they’ve put in good displays and done good things, but in terms of controlling the game that has been really patchy this year. There are an few examples where we’ve let teams back into games.

Sorry to go over this again everyone, but he did ask. If Pau plays, it has to be alongside Carlos with Konsa at right back. As is statistically proven, Pau and Konsa leak too many goals. Our most solid centre-back partnership is Konsa/Mings. Our worst defence, by some distance, is Cash/Konsa/Pau + LB.

We’ve all seen those combinations play, and we can all (well, some of us) can count the goals.
