Anyway moving back on subject- good news that baileys back. Those pitches do cause injuries so i would sceptical playing him the whole game. Maybe a place on the bench and have JP starting

Looks like the pitch does favour them as they are much stronger at home than away. They also have a decent European home record against quality teams. It won't be easy just as we found out in Warsaw last season for our opening game.

They’ve lost a good number of home games this season, but the pitch is a big advantage to them. It’s not going to be easy, especially as we always concede.

Our much better players should hopefully be an advantage to us.

You’d hope so, but that pitch is an abnormal advantage for them.

I fancy that we'll have some all weather pitches at Bodymoor.

Not necessarily, we have arranged to do all of our pre-game training on the pitch and they tend to help teams that like to keep the ball on the deck. Man City hammered them last year by doing pretty much exactly what we did to Everton at the weekend so if we can hold on to the ball and pin them back I don't think the surface will have much of an impact.

Ive played football on grass and astro. Without question as a defender you are more likely to pick up a injury. Sliding on astro is awful and fucking painful

That's not supported by actual empirical study though, and, no disrespect intended, the pitches (grass or otherwise) that'll you'll have played on are not going to be the same as those found at stadiums hosting Champions League football.

I played at spurs a while back (admittedly was years ago) but man i wouldnt want to play defence on there personally

Hopefully we dont suffer any injuries on there though 👍
