Had just about got through the horrible news on Monday by doing that bloke thing where you don't actually cry but strategically blow your nose at regular intervals.

Later, the phone rang. An old mate of mine, lovely bloke, not a Villa fan, asked me if I'd heard that Gary Shaw had died? Cue the floodgates opening.

Nice tribute on MOTD CL ahead of our highlights.

Forgot about the highlights show, will go look on iPlayer.

It's also repeated tonight on BBC 2 at 11.05pm.

Is that a repeat or an updated show with the highlights of tonight's games (Arsenal) ?

Good question. I'd forgotten there were some games tonight so it's probably be the latter.

Another nice tribute on Football Focus followed by an interview with Tony Morley at Villa Park.

Listening to the support sing about Gary yesterday was fantastic. It brought back some memories and I could just visualise him scoring the first against Barcelona in the super cup.
I felt extremely emotional but had a huge smile of my face at the same time.

Good to hear the Gary Shaw song ringing around Villa Park again. Many would have been singing it for the first time.
