Minute's applause was the right thing to do.

Why not just before the players came out. Anyway, sometimes a minutes silence is right given his relatively young age, the unexpected nature of his passing, and the first of the eleven to go. There was tumultuous applause at 8 minutes so that type of appreciation wouldn’t have been missed.
A silence wasn't possible, as explained, not sure why you keep ignoring it but I can't be arsed to say it any more.
