Bronte's breakfast notes: "Bacon, 4 on 10 - you'd be waiting a long time for bacon to put in a shift but that's not why it's on the plate. Button mushrooms, taste and smell like mud and ennui. Brilliant. Black pudding: a coward. Major criticism, more distance between the eggs and the beans. I may want to mix them but I want that to be my decision. Use a sausage as a breakwater. But I'm nit-picking, on the whole, an embarrassing, gutless effort. No heart, no liver. 3 on 10. Let's make love."

Bogarde is a good athlete but too limited on the ball for Emery.

I appreciate that your takes on most things are pretty terrible, but Bogarde is literally the one, single youth player that Emery had brought through, played and trusted in his three years at the club.

So it probably jumps into your top five.

Very, very good today. When playing in his preferred role, his physical presence is so valuable.

Same role he has played in every game since Kamara got injured? Executed far better today, won lots of tackles and even passed the ball forward a few times.

He is different next to Barkley. Allows him more freedom to get forward. Was excellent..

Agree. Having McGinn back and the presence of Tielemans plus an excellent Ross Barkley and Amadou has gone back to his best position. So dominant today.

Today he gave the type of performance I expect from him. Disciplined in his role, put himself about, made himself available for the pass and even put in a crunching sliding tackle. Well done, big fella.

It was his tackle and quick release that set us away for Watkins' goal.

So where was he playing today?

Played as one of the two in front of defence, with Ross Barkley.  Was excellent in both boxes.  When he plays like this, he looks every bit what we paid for him.

So where he always plays then.
Reading above it suggests he was in a totally different position,
From what I saw he was excellent.
