We know they think it even if they don't say it. I don't know why we insist they have to pretend not to think it.

No, but we pay them a fortune to represent our club so when your home press or non-British in this case, asks you these type of questions - because that's when players usually become more loose-lipped - just don't say anything to piss-off your club's supporters. Especially when you court them after every victory with the fist-bumping shiz.

Good point!

Maybe the fist bumps are for the kids and the grownups can be expected to read things that have been translated at least once without getting too upset.

Talk about over reaction…never thought I’d see the day on H&V.

What else are we supposed to moan about?

Hard disagree.

Supporters and players know that it's lip service to pretend that players don't move between clubs. To have to pretend that they will never consider their future career is bonkers.

Two things can be true and not contradictory:
- player really enjoys playing at, and is committed to playing well for current club and manager
- player is ambitious and believes he has ability to play for another club in the future.

If supporters can't come to terms with the idea that a player might not have the same emotional attachment as they do, that's on them. To expect players to pretend they will spend the rest of their career at a club - at every club they're at - is absurd.

Well said, and I agree.

Still though, 2 old songs sprang instantly to my febrile mind.

Elvis Costello's "Lip Service" and TLC's "Waterfalls".

For Amadou:

Don't go chasing waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast

I am good with this interview. He wants to play for Real Madrid or Bayern or Barca. Good. If he get a move there he has stayed fit for a year and been at the top of his game. We will be making a tidy profit too. Win win. I want ambitious players that can get to that level.

Same here.
His performances have been brilliant but the only thing about a move to Barca etc is the fact he's made of glass.
Same as Bouba. It may well put elite European clubs off paying millions for those two.

You’d think we’d all know this by now, especially having our fingers burnt and hearts broken by Grealish. Even if it was a brilliant deal financially.

To say, I think it's a good point that the club might be miffed to have their players yammering about their career plans in the media. From the fans' point of view, however, this is the nothingest burger.

Im gutted that one day he wants to move on to one of the elite European clubs, rather than stay with us till his teeth rot and his bones turn brittle. Tosser.

Seen his thread getting the most traffic and assumed he’s injured again. Surprised he wasn’t.
