We know they think it even if they don't say it. I don't know why we insist they have to pretend not to think it.
No, but we pay them a fortune to represent our club so when your home press or non-British in this case, asks you these type of questions - because that's when players usually become more loose-lipped - just don't say anything to piss-off your club's supporters. Especially when you court them after every victory with the fist-bumping shiz.
Hard disagree.
Supporters and players know that it's lip service to pretend that players don't move between clubs. To have to pretend that they will never consider their future career is bonkers.
Two things can be true and not contradictory:
- player really enjoys playing at, and is committed to playing well for current club and manager
- player is ambitious and believes he has ability to play for another club in the future.
If supporters can't come to terms with the idea that a player might not have the same emotional attachment as they do, that's on them. To expect players to pretend they will spend the rest of their career at a club - at every club they're at - is absurd.
