If he is back soon, and manages to stay fit, it'll ease my feelings of utter doom about Kamara a bit.

That is the key - and it's a big if.

We have Salzburg at home in the last game. We will be absolutely fine.

He can be a big, big player for us and I do rate him. Unai could make hi very special.
The biggest issue is that he has never been able to manage more than 6 games or so before the next injury.

I think relying on a future fixture that we'll "definitely" win is asking for trouble.

Only missed 8 games with Everton in the two seasons he was with them it looks like. Already at 36 games missed in the 1.5 seasons with us. Something seriously wrong.

Local tv here is showing Villa training tonight. He’s as active as anyone else in the squad.

I know that doesn’t necessarily mean match fit, but still a good sign.

Ross Barkley's wearing them on his fringe.

That’s astonishing. I’m so completely fed up with Onana injuries that I haven’t paid attention as to what the injuries are. Is it always a hamstring issue? If it is and it’s the same leg then yes, something is seriously wrong.

I'm not sure how accurate that is either. Wasn't he fairly well known for being a bit of a sicknote before he joined us. Unclear whether it's gone up or down since then but the Everton period feels a bit light to me

He had a minor hamstring injury almost exactly this time last year, and missed a couple of games.  Came back into the side, and immediately did it again, and missed overa month from early feb to Mid-march.

If I was the club, I'd be looking at that and being VERY careful with him to make sure he's 100% ready to play again, and there's little to no chance of a recurrence of the exact same injury.

Tricky blighters hamstrings, not sure they ever fully recover without a ton of rest.

According to the Cleveland Clinic

Healing Depends on Severity
Grade 1 (Mild Strain): Can often heal with rest and home care (RICE method: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) within a few weeks, says the NHS.
Grade 2 (Partial Tear): Requires more focused rehabilitation, often involving physical therapy, and takes several weeks to months.
Grade 3 (Complete Tear/Rupture): A very serious injury that usually needs surgery to reattach the tendon or muscle to the bone; recovery can take months, according to Physio.co.uk and the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

I assume Onana's is a grade 1.

Do we know it was hamstring this time?  It looked more like lower leg at Arsenal.

I sometimes wonder with the advances in medical technology, how accurately muscle injuries can be assessed by 'instrument', rather than by player feedback?
