Chelsea vs Man City in the first weekend. Sorry, Villa Lew.
No meetings between the clubs on the last day of the season CD, which makes it 16 seasons now.

Fair enough. Misread your post. It's still the broadcasters, not the clubs that request it though. A quick Google will show evidence (won't post link as the link was from a Far Right rag).

Ok then, but it's still wrong though.

West Ham away 5.30 ko for tv…hope it goes better than opening day at 5.30 last season
I am expecting a reversal of last season's result in the corresponding fixture....followed by a flat season.

If you're away first game you should be at home last game. How difficult can that be to arrange?

Weren't we away first game last season because we requested it due to the work on the ground?

It would make sense they have requested it again this season as we know they are tight on the shop being ready for the season.

Yep, so we should be at home last game. If they weren't massive twats.

I'm guessing we've requested it for the same reason - aren't we supposed to be putting in another 1200 seats next summer?  We should be at home on Boxing Day though, instead we get the worst away trip of the season which is bound to be moved to 20:00.

Yes, this makes sense as they shut the club shop after the last home game to start the refurb and still said they were two weeks behind where they wanted to be to get it ready for the opening of the season.

Tough November, and would prefer to be away at Citeh earlier in the season. Other than that, the fixtures seem fine to me, with a decent chance to build some momentum in the first few months.

If we are in the top half at the end of August, we are in for a good season, I reckon.

Win the first game and take the momentum into the rest of the season.
That Arse game will be a cracker.

We're massively overdue a win at West Ham, there's no good reason for our record there to be as shit as it is.

Is that Arse game likely to be moved for TV purposes? I'll be on holiday then (what's new? ho, ho!) and could feasibly get over for that.

Apparently we’re away 5/7 matches after champions league games

What about the eighth one?

Ha, I Just copied the gist of it from a WhatsApp message. 8th game must be on neutral territory 😉
We’re not, it’s 4 home, 4 away after CL games, first 3 at home, then 3 away.

I’ll report back to my mate that he’s a bullshitter, he’s normally on the ball with all things concerning AVFC.

The Boxing Day fixtures are interesting, in that of the 11 teams who are in the South, the only team who have to play outside of the South on that day are Tottenham, who go to Notts Forest.

We are at home to Palace on the 23rd November, the closest Saturday to our founding day. I bet that was requested and they have something big planned.

Nobody can tell me the fixtures aren't a stitch-up. Away at Old Trafford on the last day? Come on, imagine the execs at Sky wanking themselves silly over a final day crunch match between a team nobody cares about and a team that's nowhere near as good as they used to be. They've done us again.
