Can somebody with a bigger brain please tell me... do the pots actually make a difference now?

You've got to play two from each pot anyway, so what is the advantage in being in a higher pot?

The only difference is segregating the better / more European experienced teams out for easier drawing.

For the final time I think, does anyone know when the draw is?  ;D

Draw is 5pm tonight (UK Time). We'll find out our 8 opponents and whether each tie is home or away.

We won't find out WHEN we play them until Saturday, which is when the actual fixture calendar is released (*Haven't been able to find out what time on Saturday yet - Hopefully in the morning before I depart for Leicester!).

Is there any rhyme or reason for playing on a Tuesday or Wednesday? As we're one of the gimp teams are we more likely to get Wednesday?

Given we'll be playing some of the 'non-gimp' teams, probably not.

It's usually a 50/50 split, so if you play on Wednesday one week you'll likely play on Tuesday the next, and vice versa. This is slightly complicated this season as there is one "exclusive" Champions League week where fixtures are spread across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

There is no seeding to decide which teams play on which day, though, if that's what you're suggesting. The only way they amend the format is to ensure that an even number of teams from each country are playing on each day. They also stop clubs from the same city and especially the same ground playing at home at the same time.

So, there will be two English clubs playing on Tuesday and two on Wednesday, with the exception of the one Tuesday-Thursday week I mentioned, up until the final set of games which are all on a Wednesday.

Ta. Yeah I was wondering if pot 1 teams would get their home games on Tuesday where possible, or some type of rule like that.

Could really do with not being at home on Wednesday 27th November, please, because I'm away. If we get Real Madrid that day I'll be seething.

I expect 4 either end of the table to have nothing to play for, but that still means 24 teams trying to qualify for the chance of the next round / favourable draw on that last day. It will definitely mean looking at lots of permutations throughout the night.

I hope Unai Emery has better phone signal at Villa Park than I do.
