Into the last sixteen, doesn't seem that long ago we were stinking out the Premier League. Whatever happens in the next round we have already had some unforgettable results this season in Europe.

Dougie no longer has any champions league duties.

It hasn't been a good week for the Italian teams.

Looking at the brackets, Brugge might be an easier last 16 tie but Dortmund and bracket B looks it might provide an easier path to the final. Obviously it depends on the draw, but PSG and Madrid are already confirmed in bracket A.

We're up against it in the last eight either way. I'd rather swerve Madrid and any of the English teams. Please don't draw a sodding English team, provided we reach the last eight of course touch wood etc.

I'd love Barca. What a tie and I think we could do them with a fair wind.

I think it could be a much of a muchness now anyway. Whichever bracket we are in, we will have one of the league top two (or an apparently inform PSG) to play as I don't think Benfica will win through. And even for our match, I think both Bruges and Dortmund will offer a tough challenge although I fancy us against either at Villa Park, it will be how well we do away which will decide the tie.

If you're in the last eight of the Champions League, you're up against it no matter who you play.

It's a difficult competition to play in, that's kind of the point.

I absolutely would take Brugges or Dortmund in the next round, though, we'll do either of those.

Milan, Juventus & Man City all out by this stage is a surprise.

Dortmund is the bigger tie, but a last 16 tie in the Champions League against Bruge is as good as we could wish for really.

To even be at this stage is a great achievement based on our recent history. But we all want more, and our manager wants it even more than us I reckon.

We can beat anyone on our day but there's no disgrace for any side getting this far and losing.

To have managed to avoid this play off round is something else given our injuries, and it stands us in good stead for the rest of the season.

We play Brugge or Dortmund in R16, first leg away. If we get through to the QF we then play Liverpool, Benfica, Barcelona, or PSG. First leg at home.
Once the draw is made at 11am this Friday, we can see all our options through to the final. For example, would it be possible to face Bayern over two legs in the semi (first leg away) or could we face them in the final on their patch !

The first part is correct. We don't know any potential opponents beyond the last sixteen yet, though.

i am reading that as we can not play any of the teams in the bottom half of the chart until the semis.
