You’d hope sell on or buy back are included….L2 to Champ is a big step up, if he handles that then his value ups

I would be very surprised if a significant sell-on isn't included if the fee is really around £350k.  It might not make us anything, but if we have these with most of the youngsters we sell on, then it's potentially a nice little bonus down the line...

I trust we will recall the merry dance that 'boro led us on when we were trying to sign Morgan Rogers.

Perhaps we can remind them what that feels like, by agreeing to this deal (with a massive sell-on percentage) at about 11pm on deadline day.

Yes, and that we don’t agree to sell Monroe now only to then realise our core target for this window is Hayden Hackney…

Seems the type of player that we need to add a buy back and sell on clause to. Very well thought of by the supporters

Reasonable deal.

Other than clubs in receipt of parachute payments or with wealthy owners invested in a 'project', most EFL clubs are skint, with limited funds for transfer fees.

He won't get into our first team for at least 2-3 seasons, so it makes sense to sell him for a modest fee so he can build his career and earn more elsewhere. If he does well and gets a big money move, the Boro', Villa  and the player benefit.

Expect similar moves for a number of our youngsters who've got to their early 20s.

Wonder if there's a buyback option?

I’d guess there would be a plethora clauses given the low fee.

I wonder whether the reported £350k covers the costs to develop him. With a potential profit in the post.

Anyone hazard a guess at what it costs to build a footballer?

£300k with 30% sell on is ok given he was out of contract at the end of the season
