The club should ensure she never has to pay for a season ticket ever again.
Totally.

Is it just me or do there seem to be loads more incidents like this at football matches than when I was a kid?

I think they are dealt with in the ground now, with games being stopped etc. whereas I suspect before everything just carried on so it was less obvious.

Glad the young fella is OK, and well done to Heidi. Somebody on Twitter said there was a second similar incident in the North, did anybody hear anything about that?

I was in the upper North last night and there were some stewards, paramedics and police around in the 2nd half but I couldn't see what was going on.

In the last pages of the match thread, someone seems to state some punches were thrown in the Upper North by a right knob. Might have been that.

My niece who was in the Upper North seemed to suggest to me it was a similar incident to the 24 year old, however she is an unreliable 15 year old so I'll have to ask my brother on Sunday.

I’ve often thought if something terrible like that happens, a football ground is just about the best place to be. I was in the Witton Lane Upper at that end and the reaction and treatment was second to none. Well done to Heidi.

We said exactly the same at half time. My mom had to wait 17 hours for an ambulance 18 months ago and if this young lad had been anywhere else he possibly wouldn’t have got help in time.

Indeed. Forty thousand people are bound to include someone with the medical knowledge for any type of emergency, there will be an ambulance crew there and almost certainly they will have a plan for every eventuality.

Can I say what a knob the young 20-something was who decided to stand by the gangway in L4, stand on the seats so that he could get as many photos as possible as the incident was unfolding. When I challenged him and said that a fellow Villa fan was probably experiencing a serious medical episode, his response was that he was taking photos of the police - I laughed in his face and told him to stop immediately.

There wasn't the "fuss" made as much. Games wouldn't be stopped, stadium sections wouldn't be cleared. You might see the some stewards and ambulance staff go into the crowd at a certain section of the ground but then carry on watching the match if it wasn't close enough to view it. It would be lucky to even be mentioned in any post match reports.

Now the medical emergencies are more overt, they get noticed more by fans at the ground and on TV as the play is stopped, or as in our game the start is delayed.

Thats shocking behaviour but not surprising as we, like any other club have our fair share of absolute knobheads.

It's the vaccine ennit?

I actually had a row with the young headcase who sits in front of me about that very thing and it was the second time I'd had that sort of exchange that day. People still think the whole Covid thing was a scam.
