I think last nights first half would have raised the blood pressure, heart rate and numerous other health stress factors of many people myself included. I checked my Sports watch at half time and my heart rate had averaged about 110bpm when my normal resting heart rate is about 50-60bpm. Stressful stuff this football supporting malarkey!

The other good thing about it happening at the football is the likelihood someone will be able to donCPR and the availability of paramedics and Defib. I saw a stat last year that only 1 in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest.

And well done to that young lady Heidi and glad to hear the lad is ok.

Went to a Brighton game ss a neutral last season and there was a video on at half-time featuring a Forest fan who had suffered a cardiac arrest there and survived.  They went on to say that there had been seven cardiac arrests there since they had installed some defibrillators around the ground and all seven people had survived.

I was in K2 and saw how quickly she reacted and how hard she worked until other help arrived. Heidi absolutely deserves all the plaudits she is getting.

Edit: Just opened Twitter and saw this.

I've often thought some basic training should be compulsory at schools etc, i've left it as a long link so as folks can see what it is and may want to try it.

Thank you for this and the news above.
Well done Heidi, as rumours around the ground upon leaving were that it could be very bad news.

Well done Heidi, glad this ended up with the lad moaning about the result rather than anything more serious.

Glad the young fella is OK, and well done to Heidi. Somebody on Twitter said there was a second similar incident in the North, did anybody hear anything about that?

I was in the upper North last night and there were some stewards, paramedics and police around in the 2nd half but I couldn't see what was going on.

In the last pages of the match thread, someone seems to state some punches were thrown in the Upper North by a right knob. Might have been that.

I’ve often thought if something terrible like that happens, a football ground is just about the best place to be. I was in the Witton Lane Upper at that end and the reaction and treatment was second to none. Well done to Heidi.

Really pleased that the young man is ok and joined in with the rest of us in moaning at the result!  Well done all involved, super job.

Is it just me or do there seem to be loads more incidents like this at football matches than when I was a kid?

Over a million people have watched games at VP this season, i'd imagine it's statistically likely that a couple will sadly have issues at some stage.

It looked like there was an incident in lower Witton too but seemed to be dealt with pretty quickly
